Cambodian academic experts work on the bilingual dictionary at Tra Vinh University

(TVU)- H.E. Ton Saim, the Under Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport in Cambodia, and the delegation paid their working visit with the Viet-Khmer and Khmer-Viet dictionary compilation team at Tra Vinh University during last 28-31 August.   




The Project Management Unit informed that this bilingual dictionary is being planned to publish at the end of this year after the delegation of Cambodian academic experts directly worked with TVU compilation team during the last eight sessions.   


H.E. Ton Saim highly evaluated the Viet-Khmer and Khmer-Viet dictionary compilation and considered it as a TVU’s great scientific research. H.E. Ton Saim said: “I acknowledge TVU staff and faculty’s remarkable efforts as we have enriched lexicon into the dictionary with the surprising number of 42.000 words for now in addition to the reference of Khmer ChounNath Dictionary.”


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector highly appreciated the substantial contributions of the Cambodian experts in consultancy and giving their valuable ideas to this dictionary compilation work.



The Rector gave his sincere thanks to H.E. Ton Saim and the delegation for their considerable assistance to Tra Vinh University in this work. He added that the university continues maintaining online contact with the Cambodian experts for further discussion so that the bilingual dictionary will soon be brought into use, contributing to learning and research of the two languages, and promoting friendship of the two countries.
