Uniterra is a major Canadian international volunteer cooperation program jointly operated by WUSC and CECI. It promotes the exchange of expertise, knowledge and know-how between volunteers from Canada and overseas partners of the global South. Uniterra strives to contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of local communities in 14 countries in Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and Asia. In November 2015, Uniterra will be hosting a two and a half-week International Seminar (IS) in Hanoi, Vietnam, which will bring together 24 young entrepreneurs and social innovators from Canada, Vietnam, Sri Lanka and Nepal. The theme of the Seminar will be “Youth Leaders in Entrepreneurship.” The key objectives of the Seminar are: (i) to develop the participants’ entrepreneurial skills, (ii) to deepen their understanding of youth employability, social innovation and entrepreneurship in Asia and Canada, and (iii) to provide recommendations on how the Uniterra program can better support young entrepreneurs through its programs.   The annual CamTESOL conference plays an important role in highlighting research into the teaching of the English language in the region and around the world.  Many research-based papers, after being presented at CamTESOL, are submitted for consideration for publication in Language Education in Asia (LEiA).  LEiA is a peer-reviewed online journal, inspired by the annual CamTESOL conference series. As in previous years, IDP Education is again coordinating sponsorship to create some research grants for delegates to the 2013 conference. The grants are to support delegates who wish to pursue research that will be written up and presented at the 2014 conference and then submitted for consideration for publication in LEiA.  The next round of grants will be made available to nationals of the following countries: Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines and Indonesia. The University of Greenwich assists in postgraduate study leading to a research degree through the award of scholarships and studentships. These scholarships provide a financial stipend for three years (subject to satisfactory progress) at an amount equal to that paid by Research Councils UK. Also, tuition fees will be waived up to a maximum amount equivalent to the university’s home/EU tuitions fee for MPhil and PhD students. Based on applications received for the PhD programme by 29th June 2012, the Law Faculty at University College Cork will be offering a limited number of studentships to support full-time PhD studies in the Faculty. These will be valued from €12,000 to €15,000 per annum (including fees). The studentships are tenable for up to 3 years, although renewal each year is contingent on demonstration of adequate progress.
