Mid-Autumn Festival 2017

(TVU) – September 29, 2017, the Mid-Autumn Festival held by Tra Vinh University Labor Union attracted over 100 kids who are children of TVU lecturers and staff. Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan participated in this lovely event.

“TVU Labor Union always protects its staff’s legal rights and holds annual activities for the kids to play and develop their talent and creativity”, said the Vice Rector.  


The gathering provides the kids great opportunity to play folk games, music performance and enjoy moon cakes. These cute kids also receive the special gifts and nice lanterns as well as scholarships for their good learning outcomes.


“I let my children participate in this warm event annually as it helps them be confident and relaxed after their hard learning hours”, said a lecturer of TVU.

The opening ceremony 2017-2018

(TVU)- On September 27, 2017, the opening ceremony 2017-2018 took place at Tra Vinh University (TVU) main campus with the participation of over 1,700 freshmen, TVU faculty members, international experts, leader representatives from the province, high schools and enterprises.

At the opening ceremony eve, all schools of TVU held a variety of events including music performance, academic exchange, learning consultancy and exciting contests to welcome new students. One of outstanding points among TVU schools was to commit to facilitate traffic safety for their students through the signed agreement. 


On this event, 165 scholarships with the total value of 500,000,000 VND from domestic and international sponsors were offered to TVU students to motivate them to overcome their financial difficulties. Among these scholarships, there were 11 scholarships granted to the students of School of Technology and Engineering for their research passion. 






















“We facilitate Tra Vinh University students in participating in start-up and research affairs. We always offer you the optimal learning environment. And aside from spending time for leaning, it is very necessary for you to equip soft skills through social work involvement”, said Associ. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector.

The opening ceremony closed with the profound and thoughtful speeches from the representatives of TVU lecturers and students.

Law students with mock trials

(TVU) – On Sep 14, the annual mock trial, indispensable practice for law students, held by TVU School of Economics and Law attracted 500 students and faculty.

The mock trial lasted about 90 minutes adjudicating a criminal case on illegal possession of narcotics. The chairperson, juror, clerk, lawyer and accused were played by TVU law students.


Student Phan Thanh Trong Van, Medical Laboratory Class said: “Although it is a mock trial, it provides us much knowledge of law and I am interested in the process of debating of the lawyer”.


“The trials held by our School foster TVU academic affairs and help students put knowledge into practice as well as equip with the necessary skills including how to present problems, defend viewpoints and etc. The School will work closely with Lawyers Associations and Courts to expand such a practical trial to high schools to popularize law to students”, said lecturer Phan Minh Gioi, Vice Head of Law Department.


Along with being interested in each episode of the case, the participants were attracted by the procedures of opening, questioning, debating and sentencing with the profound and rigorous arguments of the prosecutor, the logical pleas of the lawyer, and the transparency and justice of the trial panel.

(TVU) – On September 17, 2017, TVU School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture and Arts held the Music Performance Night to welcome Sene Dolta Festival 2017, a festival for Khmer people, at TVU with the participation of Ms. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice Rector as well as students and faculty members of the School.

The Music Performance Night has been so lively with 14 cultural performances including singing, dancing and playing traditional instruments with the themes of country and labor love performed by the students. This impressive night has offered students and faculty a great opportunity to relax, develop skills and promote the beautiful Khmer culture.


“This is the third year I participate in the Music Performance Night held by the School. I really like the warm atmosphere with impressive performances which make us proud of our special culture”, said a Khmer student.


The Vice Rector sent her best wishes to Khmer lecturers, staff and students on this cultural event and expected students to accomplish their studies and contribute to preserve the unique culture of Khmer people.

(TVU)- On September 15, 2017, Bureau Veritas Certification Vietnam (BVC) carried out the second comprehensive evaluation to TVU Quality Assurance Management System based on ISO 9001:2008. This is the 11th year that the TVU management system has evaluated and accredited.

BVC team has made the periodic evaluation on the whole TVU units about the appropriateness of its quality assurance management system based on ISO 9001:2008.    

Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, TVU Vice-Rector said that during 10 years of operation and application of ISO 9001:2008, Tra Vinh University has been maintaining and improving its academic affairs based on the ISO standard. The ISO-based operation and application in quality assurance management system has brought about the noticeable effects on TVU.

BVC team also shared their relevant experience in TVU management based on the ISO standard, which aimed at TVU improvement in its management system increasing the effectiveness in work, ensuing the quality of academic affairs management and providing services at TVU.  
Ms. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice-Rector gave thanks to BVC team for their thorough evaluations of TVU quality assurance management system. She added that TVU will maintain overviewing the whole management system and carrying out improvement toward ISO 9001:2015 in 2018.

(TVU)- On September 27, 2017, Tra Vinh University is solemnly holding the opening ceremony for new academic year 2017-2018 with the participation of over 1,500 freshmen, their parents, TVU faculty, and representatives from the province and enterprises.    


Toward creating a healthy environment for students, a variety of events will be organized on the campus including music performance, academic exchange and learning consultancy between alumni and new students, especially the exciting contests with various themes such as “Landscaping Design” and “Student Start-up Initiatives.”


On behalf of domestic and international sponsors, Tra Vinh University will offer over 100 scholarships to its students to help them overcome their financial difficulties.  


This academic year is a new stage for freshmen as they will experience in a new learning environment.   


Up to 2017, Tra Vinh University offers 03 Ph.D. training programs, 15 Master’s degree training programs, 41 undergraduate programs and 26 advanced diploma programs.  



The training course on Mitsubishi-based PLC FX3U with the theme “Analog, CC-link and relevant applications in industry” run by Tra Vinh University (TVU) and experts from Setsuyo Astec Corp took place at the university during last August.



This course was divided into two stages with the instruction of lecturers of TVU School of Engineering and Technology and Mr. Do Thanh Tin, the expert of Setsuyo Astec Corp., Ho Chi Minh City.  


Delivering a speech at the training course, Mr. Huynh Cong Khoi, Deputy Dean of the School thanked Setsuyo Astec, MEVN company and Mr. Do Thanh Tin for their massive supports to this training course, which helped students update knowledge and develop skills in programming. The School is planning to diversify collaboration between the university and enterprises, and effectively exploiting equipment in order to increase the quality of training, transfer technology and supply services to community.


Le Van Minh Kha, last-year student in electricity-electronics major expressed: “This training course is very beneficial for us because we are given opportunity for getting direct access to PLC FX3U thereby increasing our capacity of programming. I also hope that we can take part in such a useful training course for more practice.”


“Currently, the School with available technology is able to open training courses in programming for individuals and enterprises”, said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, a faculty member of TVU School of Engineering and Technology.   



With regard to professional training session, Mr. Do Thanh Tin said: “We are very happy to promote cooperation with TVU in order to deliver more training courses with Mitsubishi-based technological transfer to this university and its partners”.

(TVU)- On September 9, 2017, Tra Vinh University (TVU) solemnly held the opening ceremony of the new academic year of the 1st postgraduate course with the participation of leader representatives of the province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector excitedly participated in the ceremony.



247 new learners join this postgraduate course in different fields of Economics-Law, and Engineering and Technology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector said that all learners who have trusted and chosen TVU as a good environment for extending professional knowledge as well as for conducting scientific research made their big efforts for this entrance examination. He added that postgraduate studies require high critical thinking in developing new initiatives whose products are applicable to practice.


On behalf of new learners, Nguyen Thi Hong Xuyen revealed her determination to complete her postgraduate study.


Taking this opportunity, Tra Vinh University offered a certificate together with an award to the new learner Nguyen Thi Hoang An for her excellent top rank in this entrance examination.

(TVU) - On August 29, 2017, Mr. Tran Van Trong, Tra Vinh University (TVU) Vice Rector warmly welcomed the delegation of Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD, Japan. The aim of this working visit is to open up collaborative opportunity for TVU students to study and work in Japan.



Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi, Director of Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD said that the recruitment of students to study and work in Japan aims at strengthening cultural exchange between the two countries. He also hoped that this collaborative program will offer high-income employment opportunity for TVU students. As part of this working visit, Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi also introduced the general information about policies as well as living and working conditions in Japan.  


On behalf of TVU, Mr. Tran Van Trong gave big thanks to Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi and the delegation for providing TVU students with useful information about studying and working environment in Japan. The Vice Rector added that during last time, TVU students have learned and worked in Japan in the scope of educational collaboration in various fields. He hoped to foster the collaborative relation with Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD in order to offer more favourable conditions for TVU students to study and work in Japan.
