Tra Vinh FPT Company recruits TVU interns

(TVU) -On January 1, Tra Vinh FPT Company had an introduction on internship recruitment program of the company to Tra Vinh University. More than 100 TVU students participated in this meeting with many questions about the company’s requirements as well as policies to the recruitment.

Ms. Huynh Thi Huynh Ngan, representative of Tra Vinh FPT Company said: “During the internship time, students will gain practical experience and this helps them have more opportunity to work in the company later.”


Thach Thi Thuy Hoa, student in kindergarten major said that this was a very good chance for TVU students to be familiar with a real working environment and get good jobs.  


"This internship program helps students gain work experience in a practical learning and working environment, improving their skills and enhancing  employment opportunities after graduation", said Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Kha, Deputy Director of TVU Career Center.

(TVU) - Workshop on international scientific publication and funds for research, which was held by Tra Vinh University (TVU) during the last January, attracted the participation of over 30 national and international scientists and researchers.

Dr. Le Thi Thu Diem, Deputy Dean of TVU school of Economics, Law said that Tra Vinh University is always encouraging the scientific research activity of lecturers and students in the context of globalization.


The aim of this workshop is to give TVU lecturers and students a better insight on international publication, increasing opportunity to have their papers published internationally.

Prof. Dr.Vo Xuan Vinh, Director of the Institute of Business Studies at the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City delivered his presentation on the process of grant application and seeking funds from NAFOSTED, and suggested the establishment of a supporting data system serving research activity.

Dr. Diep Thanh Tung - Dean of TVU school of Economics, Law said that the international publication and seeking for research funds are the two most important elements to the development of scientific research of the university, especially applying for NAFOSTED.


“The access to comprehensive and reliable data is also one of the key elements in academic requirements to an international paper", said Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa - Dean of TVU school of Engineering and Technology.

(TVU) – A competition of pedagogical training held by TVU School of Education in late January attracted the participation of over 200 TVU students.

There were three teams of five to six members participating in the competition which required competitors to apply their professional skills to deal with pedagogical questions including pedagogical understanding, problem-solving, and eloquent communication skills.  


"The competition is a practical and great environment for us to well prepare ourselves with pedagogical skills and knowledge,” said Lam Thi Tu Tu, course-2014 student in kindergarten major.


Ms. Lam Thi Bach Tuyet, Dean of TVU School of Education said: "This is an annually pedagogical activity which is one of the focal missions to help the School’s students share experience as well as improve creativity and professional qualifications.”

(TVU)  - Within the project scope, “the Phase-4 Micro-credit Project for the poor people in Tra Vinh province” has just started with the total 750 million VND to be offered to 100 households under the fund support of the Vietnamese Heritage Institute (VHI), Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province, and the project management of Tra Vinh University (TVU).  




Households have been supported funds in phase 4 basing on the set criteria, in which Hoa Loi village, Hung My village, Luong Hoa village, Chau Dien village and Ward 7 of Tra Vinh province have been chosen in this phase. The ultimate goal of this project aims at poverty alleviation toward a better life for local people in Tra Vinh province.




Mr. Lam Hoang Loc, Chairman of Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province hoped that the project will support more funds for local people in the next phases to offer them more opportunity in household economic activity.    


As reported from the three previous phases within six years of implementation, the project has helped the poor people improve their livelihoods and contribute to households’ sustainable economy.




Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung-Vice Chairman of TVU Advisory Council, on behalf of the Project Management Unit said: "The project will start its 4th phase with the fund support from the VHI and the Charity Fund of Tra Vinh province. In addition, TVU School of Agri-aquaculture will continue providing households with its technical assistance, contributing to the success of the project". He also gave his big thanks to sponsors and hoped that the project will make its good progress in the next phase.

(TVU) - School of Engineering and Technology and Thu Duc Thermal Power Company signed an agreement on academic training and co-operation in the field of Electrical Engineering in late January, 2018 with the witness of TVU Vice Rector Thach Thi Dan.

At the signing ceremony, the two sides deeply discussed co-operation potential in the areas of technology and engineering to help TVU students with apprentice programs.

Mr. Do Thanh Tuyen, the company’s Director emphasized: “During their apprenticeships, TVU students will be provided accommodation and assisted in scientific research as well.”


“One of our missions is to provide human resource in Electricity to society. This co-operation gives our students more opportunities to experience in a real working environment so that they can meet employers’ needs after graduation”, said Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, the School Dean.


The Vice Rector expressed her gratitude to the company for this academic assistance. She hoped for a fruitful co-operation to bring benefits to the students.

(TVU) - On Saturday afternoon (January 27), the final match of Asian U23 Championship 2018 between Vietnam and Uzbekistan is live streaming at TVU 1000-seat Hall. Students and faculty members are eagerly gathering at the Hall to witness this important moment.

The live streaming for the final match on 800-inch LED screen, held on TVU over-1000-seat Hall is to meet the aspirations of TVU students and teachers.

(TVU) - On January 25, specialists from the State Securities Commission in Ho Chi Minh City had a talk on securities with students of School of Economics – Law, Tra Vinh University.

"Through this session, it helps us have deeper understanding about stock market thereby reinforcing and updating our knowledge to our subject”, said Le Tran Huyen Tran, course-2015 TVU student in Business Administration.


Mr. Tran Quang Vu, specialist in securities said: "When you have a good understanding of the securities as well as the stock market, it will increase your opportunities to get a job at governmental and private securities agencies or become potentially successful investors and traders in the future."


Dr. Le Thi Thu Diem, the School Deputy Dean said that it was a great opportunity for the students to update their knowledge from the specialists, which facilitates their participation in the stock market and application to practice in their later work.

(TVU)- On 25 January, Ms. Jeanne Frances Illo, Gender Specialist - Embassy of Canada in Hanoi had a collaborative discussion on gender mainstreaming in training activities of Tra Vinh University (TVU). Ms. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice Rector attended this meeting.

The Vice Rector said that during its development, Tra Vinh University always pays attention to issues of gender and community associated with its academic activities in addition to gender training sessions to increase awareness among students and staff in this field.  


As reported by TVU Gender and Community Department, there are about 4,000 students engaging in gender training sessions every year.


"I am very impressed with Tra Vinh University since it is the only institution in the country possessing the Gender and Community Department where students are prepared with knowledge of gender”, said Jeanna Frances Illo. She hoped that there will be more gender mainstreaming in TVU curricula.


At the meeting, the two sides agreed to further expand collaborative opportunities about gender and ethnic minority toward bringing benefits to women and disadvantaged people in the years to come.

(TVU) – The free English class for disadvantaged students in Tra Vinh province conducted by Tra Vinh University under the funding of the US Embassy has successfully closed after two-year implementation. Ms. Diane Millar – Director of Regional English Language Office (RELO), the US Embassy in Vietnam and Ms. Thach Thi Dan-TVU Vice Rector attended in this significant event.

The program which has commenced since 2016 with the fund of $ 30,000 from the US Embassy aims at offering free English classes to students with good academic performance but difficult family situation.  


Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Nhung, faculty member of TVU School of Foreign Languages said: "This is very meaningful to disadvantaged students since they are able to improve their English through the instruction of native teachers in addition to the participation to practical activities.”

I would like to express my deep gratitude to the US Embassy offering this program to the students, and TVU and foreign teachers who prepare us with useful knowledge that we can apply later in life”, expressed Lam Thanh Y, a student participating in this project.   


Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ms. Diane Millar said: "The free English program for disadvantaged students has started since 2004, benefiting approximately 110,000 students in more than 85 countries. It has provided them with solid foundation in English communication skills”.


"Tra Vinh University is honored to be selected for this English project implementation to the students. This initiative helps them further pursue their higher education in the future from their acquired knowledge in this program”, said Ms. Thach Thi Dan, TVU Vice Rector.

(TVU)- On January 20, Tra Vinh University (TVU) held the closing and opening ceremony to the graduate classes in 2017. Leader representatives of Tra Vinh province, TVU Rector Board, faculty members and over 700 graduate students attended this meeting.

At the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Kim Hoang, Head of Graduate Department said that the graduate courses aim to meet the learners’ demand for higher education. Currently, there are about 500 applicants admitted to TVU with different fields such as business administration, economics, laws, cultural studies, rural development, chemical engineering and literature.

Mr. Trinh Minh Tu, a new master expressed his gratitude to faculty members who are always devoted to teaching. He believed that he will apply the acquired knowledge into practice effectively.


Mr. Vo Hoang Khai, TVU Vice Rector sent his congratulation to the new graduate students and new masters. He highly evaluated their obtained results and added that Tra Vinh University will always welcome them back for their pursuit of higher education.
