(TVU)- On September 27, 2017, Tra Vinh University is solemnly holding the opening ceremony for new academic year 2017-2018 with the participation of over 1,500 freshmen, their parents, TVU faculty, and representatives from the province and enterprises.    


Toward creating a healthy environment for students, a variety of events will be organized on the campus including music performance, academic exchange and learning consultancy between alumni and new students, especially the exciting contests with various themes such as “Landscaping Design” and “Student Start-up Initiatives.”


On behalf of domestic and international sponsors, Tra Vinh University will offer over 100 scholarships to its students to help them overcome their financial difficulties.  


This academic year is a new stage for freshmen as they will experience in a new learning environment.   


Up to 2017, Tra Vinh University offers 03 Ph.D. training programs, 15 Master’s degree training programs, 41 undergraduate programs and 26 advanced diploma programs.  



The training course on Mitsubishi-based PLC FX3U with the theme “Analog, CC-link and relevant applications in industry” run by Tra Vinh University (TVU) and experts from Setsuyo Astec Corp took place at the university during last August.



This course was divided into two stages with the instruction of lecturers of TVU School of Engineering and Technology and Mr. Do Thanh Tin, the expert of Setsuyo Astec Corp., Ho Chi Minh City.  


Delivering a speech at the training course, Mr. Huynh Cong Khoi, Deputy Dean of the School thanked Setsuyo Astec, MEVN company and Mr. Do Thanh Tin for their massive supports to this training course, which helped students update knowledge and develop skills in programming. The School is planning to diversify collaboration between the university and enterprises, and effectively exploiting equipment in order to increase the quality of training, transfer technology and supply services to community.


Le Van Minh Kha, last-year student in electricity-electronics major expressed: “This training course is very beneficial for us because we are given opportunity for getting direct access to PLC FX3U thereby increasing our capacity of programming. I also hope that we can take part in such a useful training course for more practice.”


“Currently, the School with available technology is able to open training courses in programming for individuals and enterprises”, said Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tan, a faculty member of TVU School of Engineering and Technology.   



With regard to professional training session, Mr. Do Thanh Tin said: “We are very happy to promote cooperation with TVU in order to deliver more training courses with Mitsubishi-based technological transfer to this university and its partners”.

(TVU)- On September 9, 2017, Tra Vinh University (TVU) solemnly held the opening ceremony of the new academic year of the 1st postgraduate course with the participation of leader representatives of the province. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector excitedly participated in the ceremony.



247 new learners join this postgraduate course in different fields of Economics-Law, and Engineering and Technology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector said that all learners who have trusted and chosen TVU as a good environment for extending professional knowledge as well as for conducting scientific research made their big efforts for this entrance examination. He added that postgraduate studies require high critical thinking in developing new initiatives whose products are applicable to practice.


On behalf of new learners, Nguyen Thi Hong Xuyen revealed her determination to complete her postgraduate study.


Taking this opportunity, Tra Vinh University offered a certificate together with an award to the new learner Nguyen Thi Hoang An for her excellent top rank in this entrance examination.

(TVU) - On August 29, 2017, Mr. Tran Van Trong, Tra Vinh University (TVU) Vice Rector warmly welcomed the delegation of Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD, Japan. The aim of this working visit is to open up collaborative opportunity for TVU students to study and work in Japan.



Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi, Director of Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD said that the recruitment of students to study and work in Japan aims at strengthening cultural exchange between the two countries. He also hoped that this collaborative program will offer high-income employment opportunity for TVU students. As part of this working visit, Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi also introduced the general information about policies as well as living and working conditions in Japan.  


On behalf of TVU, Mr. Tran Van Trong gave big thanks to Mr. Tsuruta TaiChi and the delegation for providing TVU students with useful information about studying and working environment in Japan. The Vice Rector added that during last time, TVU students have learned and worked in Japan in the scope of educational collaboration in various fields. He hoped to foster the collaborative relation with Tsuruta Jitsugyou Co,.LTD in order to offer more favourable conditions for TVU students to study and work in Japan.     




(TVU)- Dr. Phillip M. Adams, American expert in Physics, Biology, Laws and Educational Science paid his working visit to Tra Vinh University in September, 2017.

 This working visit focused much more on experience sharing and training on registration of patent right, intellectual property, and medical informatics-IT Application in Medicine for staff and faculty members of TVU School of Engineering and Technology. 


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh highly evaluated important initiatives and considerable supports of Dr. Phillip M. Adams to TVU during the last time.


 TVU leaders suggested the step-by-step undertaking of work based on Dr. Phillip M. Adams’ initiatives, to which are good opportunities for faculty, staff and students to approach including makerspace, startups orientation and solutions.   


Regarding the TVU websites, Dr. Phillip M. Adams said that this is an effective communication channel as it helps popularize students’ graduation theses and increase more collaborative opportunity through its websites. 


 As part of this visit, Dr. Phillip M. Adams offered TVU School of Engineering and Technology electrical devices which are equivalent to 10,000 USD.


Taking this opportunity, Chairman of Tra Vinh provincial People’s Committee offered acknowledgement certificate to Dr. Phillip M. Adams for his contributions to the educational development of Tra Vinh province.

(TVU)- On 29 August, the Women's Empowerment and Voice (WEAV) offered 20 scholarships to 20 TVU female students who have overcome difficulties in learning in the academic year 2017-2018 with the award of 2,5 million dong per each.    



At the scholarship awards ceremony, Mr. Vo Hoang Khai, TVU Vice Rector expressed his gratitude to the WEAV and said: “It is a meaningful program to motivate the female students to make much more attempt in their life and learning”.    


“This is my third visit to Tra Vinh University, and I will continue fostering relation with Tra Vinh University in this scholarship program”, said Ms. Lois Testa Vietri, the WEAV representative.  


The purpose of the Women's Empowerment and Voice is to sponsor women in order to enable them to exercise their leadership and find their voice to contribute to the development of family life and community.




Lam Quang Phuc Binh, student of course-2014 English major expressed her feelings and grateful thanks to the Women's Empowerment and Voice since these scholarship awards will help them reduce burden of tuition fee and daily life, and be motivation for them to make much more effort into learning.






(TVU) – On August 21, 2017, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Tra Vinh University (TVU) Rector warmly welcomed Deputy Minister of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Quoc Doanh and the delegation. The visit aimed at exploring scientific research in association with training and developing local economy.

 At the meeting, the delegation gained more information about the implementation process of the two researches including “Coconut seed research with cell culture and intensive planting techniques” and “Research to create disease-free parent prawns for hatcheries in Tra Vinh” presented by the two vice-deans of School of Agriculture and Aquaculture, Dr. Pham Thi Phuong Thuy and Dr. Huynh Kim Huong.


The Deputy Minister acknowledged the outstanding achievements of TVU in training and research. He expected TVU Rector Board to promote its strength to conduct research more effectively.


Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister and the delegation for the visit and their great support to the university’s development including facilitating research affairs of TVU lecturers and students.


After the meeting, the Deputy Minister and the delegation took a visit to TVU experimental sites and facilities.
