TVU – On the afternoon of February 15th, the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the School of Languages – Culture – Arts – Khmer South and Humanities (Tra Vinh University) in collaboration with the delegation of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held the opening ceremony of the “EnglishWorks Career-oriented English” class.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa – Rector of Tra Vinh University; Dr. Ngo So Phe, Rector of the School of Language, Culture, and Arts of the Southern Khmer and Humanities; and Ms. Natella Svistunova, Cultural Affairs Officer, U.S. Consulate General HCMC attended the event.
The “EnglishWorks Career-oriented English” program is an initiative of the regional English Language Office, under the US Embassy in Vietnam, aimed at providing career-oriented English language learning opportunities and job skills to unemployed or underemployed youth aged 17-25 with difficult circumstances.
Participants in the program will be trained in English communication skills for working people, resume and job interview preparation skills, and other soft skills. At the same time, they will participate in job fairs and visit actual recruitment units.
Participants will be awarded a certificate of acceptance into the EnglishWorks Career-oriented English scholarship program.
The Faculty of Foreign Languages will select 25 students to participate in the program. Selected students will learn English from January to June 2023 and will be fully sponsored for tuition fees, study materials, and other supportive activities.
