(TVU) – More than 400 Youth Union members and students from Tra Vinh University on the morning of September 17 take part in the fourth national “Green Sunday” in 2023.
This is the fourth time this year that “Green Sunday” has been implemented under the topic “Joining hands for a cleaner world.” Both union members and young people respond enthusiastically to the campaign. It reflects the commitment and passion of TVU union members and students in preserving the Green-Clean-Beautiful environment, aiding in the development of positive environmental knowledge, behaviors, and attitudes. Also, it encouraged people to actively participate in environmental preservation, climate change adaptation, and the prevention and control of natural disasters and epidemics in 2023. Through the program, students’ understanding of their roles and responsibilities in classifying and correctly treating all types of garbage at the source is improved, helping to develop a “Green University.”
Cleaning tasks are deployed and specifically assigned to affiliated units by the Tra Vinh University Youth Union and Student Association. Young people, in their volunteering blue shirts, together collect, sort, and correctly treat waste, as well as clean the campus’ roadways, self-study areas, and surroundings. With such acts, individuals show that they are responsible for the environment—humanity’s shared home—and that they understand how crucial it is to preserve the green color of the natural world.
The environment is the common living space for humans. “Green Sunday” at TVU is not simply a movement but also a regular activity of the Youth Union in recent years as a way of working together to deal with environmental pollution, respond to climate change, and build a Green-Clean-Beautiful environment. Through these activities, young people and union members have helped to establish a more civilized and ecologically conscious lifestyle.

As part of a series of activities of the Youth Union to celebrate the 92nd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 – March 26, 2023) and respond to the 2023 Youth Month, “Green Sunday” is a meaningful event carried out by the Youth Union to raise awareness for union members and young people. It highlights the proactive and volunteer spirit of Vietnamese youth in general and TVU students in particular.
