Dr. Nguyen Tan Tai, Dean of the School of Applied Chemistry, Deputy Head of the contest organizing the committee said: This is the first time Tra Vinh University has organized a contest on scientific research ideas for high school students. Aims to encourage students to research, create, solve problems, and apply science to life; create resources, and support research conditions to help students develop research ideas in the field of chemistry, materials science, and the environment. At the same time, it helps students perfect their scientific research ideas and supports them to participate in national science competitions.
According to the competition rules, each topic must not exceed 2 students and only participate in one research topic in the following fields: Chemistry (Analytical Chemistry, Computer Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry)Materials Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry); environmental Engineering (chemical treatment of the environment, Pollution control, Waste, and reuse management, Water Management) and Materials Science (chemical materials, Composite materials, Materials science, etc.) Nanomaterials, Polymer Materials, and Biomedical Materials).
According to the Organizing Committee, the results of the topic review are expected to be announced from August 15, 2023, to August 31, 2023, to select projects to participate in the final round. Candidates with an average score of more than 50/100 points by the Review Board will be selected for the final round. The topics that have passed the preliminary round will be notified by email and phone by the Organizing Committee before September 8, 2023, complete the explanation of the research topic and send it to the Organizing Committee before September 30, 2023.
The final round is expected to be held on October 15, 2023. The organizers set up an evaluation committee directly at Tra Vinh University or online for candidates who do not have the conditions to attend the school.
The prize structure of the first “Scientific and Technical Research Ideas” contest in 2023 includes 01 First Prize, 01 Second Prize, 01 Third Prize, and 05 Consolation prizes. In addition, 03 winning topics of the contest will be supported with experimental conditions at Tra Vinh University to participate in the Science and Technology competition in the academic year 2023-2024.
For candidates who won the first, second, and third prizes, who are students of Tra Vinh University, the school will support up to 15 million VND to implement the research project.
To participate, students send the registration form and research proposal by soft file to the address: ytkhkt@tvu.edu.vn, the email subject clearly states: DK-KHKT2023 and send a printed copy to Ms. Le Thi Thu Ha, Faculty of Applied Chemistry Tra Vinh University (No. 126, Nguyen Thien Thanh, Group 4, Ward 5, Tra Vinh City, Tra Vinh Province).
Candidates register for the exam until the end of August 15, 2023.
