TVU – The 8th Congress of the Tra Vinh University Student Association for the 2023-2025 term was successfully concluded on September 16 after two days of intensive work.

The Congress was attended by leaders of the Viet Nam National Union of Students, Tra Vinh Provincial Youth Union, Tra Vinh University management, student associations from other universities, and Tra Vinh University Student Association members.

The outgoing student association executive committee delivered an end-of-term report highlighting achievements in activities supporting students’ studies, research, exercise, community service, entrepreneurship, and more. They also acknowledged shortcomings to address in the next term.

The Congress discussed strategies aligned with the university’s development needs, focusing on reinventing the association’s operations, promoting patriotism and ethics among students, and creating environments for them to study, express themselves, volunteer, and apply knowledge. Key priorities include innovating activities, drawing more student participation, coordinating with university units, understanding students’ aspirations, assisting with employment, and building student capacity.

23 Executive Committee members were elected, including 7 Secretariat members. Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao was re-elected as Chairperson. The new term runs from 2023-2025.

Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the University Council, extends his congratulations and appreciation to the TVU Student Association on this special occasion for their efforts and support of student movements.

He hopes that the University’s Student Association will continue to advance its role and responsibilities in the upcoming term, serve as the core of all projects of the Student Union, develop plans appropriate for each stage of the organization’s development, be modern in management, and increase the quantity and quality of activities to draw in participants, contributing to the successful implementation of the missions and strategies of the University.

The Congress is honored to receive such attention and direction from the Viet Nam National Union of Students’ Central Secretariat. Mr. Nguyen Ba Cat, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union and Vice President of the Central Committee of the Viet Nam National Union of Students extends congratulations on behalf of the Central Committee to the 23 individuals who have been selected by delegates to serve on the Executive Committee of the University’s Student Association for term VIII.

He also recognizes the accomplishments of the University’s Student Association in recent times, as well as the great sense of responsibility that each delegate has demonstrated in discussing and helping to make the Congress a success. And he expects that in the future, the Association’s actions and the student movement of Tra Vinh University will grow and provide a lot stronger positive results.

Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, the newly elected president, appeals to all association officers, members, and students at Tra Vinh University to continue working on maintaining the legendary traditions of earlier generations, to promote advantages, to overcome obstacles, and to be resolute in carrying out the resolution of the 8th Congress of the Vietnamese Student Association of Tra Vinh University, term 2023–2025.

The leaders and students congratulate the Congress results and hope the association will strengthen its role in supporting the university’s strategic implementation and the student movement.
