(TVU) – On February 27th, The Center of Excellence in Learning Resources and Innovation (CELRI)organizes a seminar to share the pair/group teaching and learning community model. Many lecturers attend and present their experiences.
Ms. Truong Thi My Huyen, Deputy Director of CELRI, says the teaching community model helps lecturers improve their expertise through supportive activities, observing each other’s classes, and learning from real-life situations. This model is applied in many countries worldwide.
At Tra Vinh University, the model has been implemented since March 2023 with over 20 groups and 100 members participating to share teaching experiences and techniques.
At the seminar, presenters share various teaching methods such as lecturing, project-based learning, group discussions, teaching techniques, BOPPPS and CoARDs models, four corners and jigsaw techniques, and methods for teaching negotiation, information searching, stress management, problem-solving, creative thinking, critical thinking, teamwork, presentations, e-portfolio building, communication, time management, personal finance, environmental protection, and entrepreneurship skills.
Lecturer Nguyen Ngoc Dan Thanh emphasizes that the lecturing method stimulates listening ability, covers teaching time, and allows flexibility in training.
Lecturer Tran Thach Thao shares about the four corners model and jigsaw technique, which focus on developing students’ independent learning, practical application, research, and creativity capabilities when applied in teaching.
Overall, the seminar focuses on sharing advanced teaching methods and models to improve teaching quality and develop the capabilities of both lecturers and students.
