A colorful welcome day for the 2025 student at Tra Vinh University

(TVU) – On the morning of September 7, Tra Vinh University organizes a vibrant Welcome Day for its 2025 student cohort, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere to kick off the new academic year 2025–2026 and attracting thousands of students.

The festival includes two main parts: a formal welcome ceremony and an interactive program where new students meet with lecturers and faculty from various colleges and departments. The day is filled with cultural exchanges, musical performances, traditional games, and food stalls, all designed by lecturers and senior students to help the newcomers integrate into the new learning environment.

In her speech at the ceremony, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, the Vice-Rector, highlights some of Tra Vinh University’s recent achievements. She notes that as of August 2025, TVU has a total of 27 academic programs with international accreditation from organizations such as FIBAA (Europe), AUN-QA (Southeast Asia), and ABET (United States). This accomplishment positions Tra Vinh University among the leading universities in the Mekong Delta for international quality assurance. This milestone affirms the university’s global reputation and provides tangible benefits for students, including widely recognized degrees, increased opportunities for international exchange and internships, and a competitive edge in the global job market.

For many consecutive years, Tra Vinh University has also been ranked in the Top 200 of the world’s greenest universities according to the UI GreenMetric Ranking for its commitment to sustainable development. The university received the excellent digital transformation award for three straight years in 2022, 2023, and 2024. For the fifth consecutive year, Tra Vinh University continues to advance in the Top 100 of the World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI), which recognizes innovative and influential institutions. The university holds a top position in the WURI rankings for its cultural and ethical value.

Dr. Thach Thi Dan also congratulates all the new students for passing their high school graduation and university admission exams to officially join Tra Vinh University. On behalf of the Rectorate Board, she thanks the students for entrusting the university as the place to study, conduct research, and launch their future careers.

Vice-Rector Thach Thi Dan shares some advice: “University is a significant turning point in your life and the best time to build your character. This is a period for training, creating, and nurturing your creativity in your chosen field, and an opportunity to strive for personal and academic growth through self-study.”

During the festival, students enjoy various booths featuring traditional games, prize quizzes, and food. They also participate in cultural performances and football exchanges at locations including the D5 Lecture Hall and the grounds of the College of Economics and Law (CEL); the College of Khmer Southern Language-Culture-Arts and Humanities (CLASKA); and the College of Medicine and Pharmacy (CMP). These activities help new students learn more about the university, connect with their faculties, and interact with peers and lecturers.

Nguyen Vinh Tri, a new student in the 2025 Information Technology class, shares his excitement: “When I came to the university, I noticed the lecturers were here very early, preparing free food stalls for students. Meeting my lecturers and senior students, making new friends, and joining in the fun activities today makes me feel very comfortable and ready for the new school year.”

For Nguyen Thanh Do, a new Veterinary Medicine student, the day is filled with emotion. “My parents brought me here yesterday, and I felt a bit overwhelmed at first,” he says. “But the warm welcome from the lecturers and the chance to interact with senior students in various clubs helped me feel more confident.”
