TVU – On October 19, 2022, the School of Pedagogical Practice, Tra Vinh University, cooperated with the US Consulate to organize a meeting to introduce the US Government scholarship programs to more than 150 students in grades 10, 11, and 12 and summarize the ACCESS scholarship program.
From the guest side, there were Ms. Bintu Musa-Harry – Press Attaché; Ms. Le Thi Kim Muon – Cultural Assistant; Ms. Mai Anh Dao and Ms. Pham Mai Phuong – Program Coordinators of the American Center in Ho Chi Minh City.
From Tra Vinh University, there was Dr. Thach Thi Dan – Vice-Rector of the University; Dr. Phung Van De – Director of the Institute of International Training; and representatives of the Pedagogical Practice School, Nguyen Thien Thanh High School for the Gifted and Hoa Loi High School.
On this occasion, the ACCESS scholarship program awarded certificates of course completion to three students of the School of Pedagogical Practice, Tra Vinh University. It is known that the ACCESS scholarship program is an English Learning Scholarship for students with difficult circumstances, allowing them to study and improve their English communication skills. The scholarship is for students in grades 8 and 10 studying at the School of Pedagogical Practice, signed by Tra Vinh University with the Information and Culture Department of the US Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.

The US government’s scholarship program is for students in grades 10 and 11. The requirement for the scholarship is that students must have one semester of being excellent.
Female students with Technology Program (TECHGIRLS SCHOLARSHIP): Students can stay in the US for 4 weeks to learn about STEM, soft skills, and American culture and interact with friends from 40 countries. The enrollment will take place in November, and students are expected to depart in July or August. This program is especially for female students who like technology.
Southeast Asian Youth Leaders Program (SEAYLP SCHOLARSHIP): With this program, students can stay 5 weeks in the US to learn about soft skills and American culture and interact with friends from ASEAN. The enrollment will take place in November, and students are expected to depart in April or May.
In addition, the US government scholarships also have programs for college and university students (except final year students):
Global Student Exchange Program (GLOBAL UGRAD SCHOLARSHIP): With this program, students can study for one semester in the US, regardless of major, with a GPA of the last semester of 7.5 or higher. The enrollment will take place in November, and students are expected to depart in January or August.
Southeast Asia Youth Leaders Program (YSEALI SCHOLARSHIP): This program is for a wide range of people of different ages, such as young leaders (18-25 years old) and young officers (25-35 years old).
The benefits of participating in the program: students will be fully funded to study. They can experience American culture, learn about their favorite topics, and exchange with friends from the US and many countries.
Hoang Duc Tri, a grade-10 student majoring in English at the School of Pedagogical Practice, shared: “The scholarship program is very useful, giving me a lot of necessary information to prepare to study abroad. I plan to participate in this scholarship program next year.”
