Regarding the admission of Laotian candidates to study at Tra Vinh University for the academic year 2023-2024

Tra Vinh University announces the admission process with the following details:
I. Admission criteria
• Laotian candidates holding high school diplomas (foreign or domestically recognized) equivalent to Vietnamese high school diplomas are eligible.
• Applicants must meet one of the university’s admission criteria.
• Adequate health condition for studying is required.
• All personal information and application documents must be submitted as per regulations.

II. Admission Method and Fields
1. Admission method
Direct admission based on the Admissions Regulations issued under Decree No. 08/2022/TT-BGDĐT dated June 6th, 2022, by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (method code: 301).
2. Fields of study
Applicants should refer to the attached list of available fields for admission.
III. Admission Criteria
Foreign candidates who are not native Vietnamese speakers must have achieved the required proficiency in the Vietnamese language as per the current regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. They should meet the following conditions for admission to Tra Vinh University’s undergraduate programs:

• Candidates who have completed high school in their home country but have not reached B2 level of Vietnamese proficiency (equivalent to level 4/6) (according to Article 6 of Decree No. 30/2018/TT-BGDĐT dated December 24th, 2018, regarding foreign students studying in Vietnam).
To study in the official Vietnamese program, candidates must complete the preparatory Vietnamese program and additional subject-specific courses within one academic year as organized by the university (Phase 1). After completing this phase, candidates who achieve the required score (depending on the chosen field) will proceed to the official program (Phase 2). Candidates aiming for medical fields must achieve a score of 8.0 or higher, for Pharmaceutical studies; a score of 7.0 or higher for Laboratory Medicine, Nursing, Functional Rehabilitation Techniques, Preventive Medicine, and Medical Imaging Techniques. For other fields, the required score is 5.0 or higher.

• Candidates who have completed high school, secondary school, vocational school, college, or higher education in Vietnamese, or have achieved at least B2 level (level 4/6) in Vietnamese as per the Framework of Vietnamese Proficiency defined in Decree No. 17/2015/TT-BGDĐT dated September 1st, 2015, by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. Based on their academic records and proficiency in Vietnamese, they are eligible for Phase 2 of official undergraduate studies.

IV. Application Submission

– Copy of high school diploma.
– Copy of high school transcripts.
– Copy of higher education diplomas and transcripts issued by Vietnamese institutions (if applicable).
– Copy of passport (candidates must submit their passport upon receiving the admission notice for visa application).
– Copy of birth certificate.
– Copy of Vietnamese or English language certificates (if applicable).

VI. Tuition Fees
Phase 1 – Vietnamese Preparatory Program The university charges a tuition fee of 12,500,000 VND (equivalent to 540 USD) per student for one academic year.

Phase 2 – Undergraduate Programs

For candidates meeting the admission criteria in Case 2 (Section III), moving on to study undergraduate programs in the 2024-2025 academic year, the university charges tuition fees based on each field of study as follows: • Preventive Medicine: 54,000,000 VND/year (equivalent to 2,330 USD). Other fields under the Health Sciences category: 44,800,000 VND/year (equivalent to 1,932 USD). • Other fields: 27,300,000 – 30,300,000 VND/year (equivalent to 1,178 – 1,310 USD). Tuition fees for subsequent years will not increase by more than 10% compared to the tuition fee for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Other expenses: Visa, dormitory, insurance, degree recognition fees, etc. Tra Vinh University assists students with procedures, while students are responsible for travel, meals, and living expenses during their studies.

VII. Scholarship Policy

For the academic year 2023-2024, Tra Vinh University implements scholarship policies for candidates from the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, as per Circular No. 1841/CV-ĐHTV dated July 28, 2023, from the Rector of Tra Vinh University. Subsequent years of Phase 2: Scholarships are awarded according to the existing scholarship policies of Tra Vinh University.

Note: Maintenance of scholarships during Phase 2 will depend on academic performance each year.
