(TVU) – On December 21st, 2021, the Advisory Council of Tra Vinh University held a meeting to summarize the activities in 2021 and plan the activities programs for 2022. Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of the Advisory Council, chaired the meeting.
At the meeting, Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Former TVU Vice-Rector, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council, reported the results achieved in 2021 with many outstanding achievements. TVU has developed and improved the quality of training programs according to domestic and international quality accreditation standards. Currently, TVU has 12 programs accredited according to international standards, of which 06 are FIBAA quality accreditation programs, 05 AUN-QA quality inspection programs, 01 ABET accreditation program. Now, TVU has 05 self-assessment programs that are according to the Ministry of Education and Training standards.
Besides, Tra Vinh University has many ideas and startup projects. They exchanged on the forums of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. TVU also organized the contest “Startup ideas among students in 2021” attracting 80 ideas/projects to participate in, of which 15 ideas/projects entered the semi-final round of the contest held on November 12th, 2021.
Regarding scientific research and publication of scientific articles, in the academic year 2020-2021, the number of research and articles increased compared to the previous school year. TVU has 01 patent registration for “Equipment for classifying coconut wax by measuring and analyzing waves minus”. In particular, the online training was implemented in response to the Covid-19 epidemic situation. The above results continue to confirm the role of Tra Vinh University in training quality human resources to meet the needs of society in the region and the whole country. implemented
During the meeting, the members of the Advisory Council frankly contributed and shared experiences in the development orientation of Tra Vinh University.
Former Vice President of Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Minh said that Tra Vinh University has made many outstanding achievements in the accreditation of international education quality in 2021. And TVU is also a highly influential university in entrepreneurship and innovation values according to the WURI ranking (World’s Universities with Real Impact). However, TVU should continue to expand domestic and international accreditation programs, especially university-level accreditation for further development. In the current complicated epidemic situation, online teaching is a popular model. TVU needs to improve the quality of online teaching according to the standards of the industrial age 4.0 first and the international standards to make online training more effective.
The meeting has many function contributions to orient the health science group of Prof. Dr. Phuoc Minh Hiep, Dr. Phan Manh Tien, and Specialist Doctor II Phan Thanh Dung.
Specialist Doctor 1 Bui Van Minh, Former Deputy Director of Department of Health Tra Vinh province, member of the Advisory Council, affirmed to support and advise the Board of Directors to develop Tra Vinh University Hospital from 50 beds to 200 beds in the future. To ensure students of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy with the best practice conditions and convert students from pre-clinical practice to clinical practice. Students can firmly grasp techniques to skills and techniques in medicine.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung proposed that the TVU Advisory Council continue to support Tra Vinh University to connect international projects, advance university projects, and become an intelligent university. And introduce professors and associate professors for the faculties to improve the human resources in the future development orientation of Tra Vinh University.
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Advisory Council, Mr. Tran Hoan Kim highly appreciated the opinions and solutions to develop Tra Vinh University. The Advisory Council members should try their best to support, share difficulties and create conditions with the leaders to make Tra Vinh University more developed.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh received and acknowledged the valuable contributions of the members of the Advisory Council and directed relevant units to supplement the strategic plan and implement it according to the development roadmap of Tra Vinh University.
