Applying artificial intelligence in education: opportunities and challenges

(TVU) – On August 25, Tra Vinh University organizes a seminar on “Applying Artificial Intelligence in Education: Opportunities and Challenges.” The seminar provides an opportunity to exchange experiences and explore the opportunities that artificial intelligence (AI) technology brings to education.

Participants include Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An, Director of Tra Vinh Province’s Business Incubator and Director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Tra Vinh University; Mr. Tran Minh Manh, Brand Marketing Director of Ma Hai Bakery; Mr. Pham Ngoc Thien Cuong, Founder of IT Systems Vietnam, a strategic partner of Microsoft, Tech Data, and PA Vietnam; along with representatives from universities, colleges, high schools in the Mekong Delta region, within the province, and nearly 100 invited guests, teachers, and students from Tra Vinh University.

Mr. Nguyen Van Vu An stated that in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, artificial intelligence (AI) has been playing a crucial role in all areas of life. Possessing and developing digital skills is not only an advantage but also a determining factor in the success of each individual. Particularly, teachers and lecturers must master these skills to improve teaching quality. In contrast, students need to approach and master technology to prepare for the future, bringing a deeper insight into the application of AI in education.

Attending the seminar, delegates presented papers on AI applications in business management and development. Specifically, Mr. Tran Minh Manh, Marketing Director of Ma Hai Bakery, shared on the topic “Opportunities for AI application in career development,” and Mr. Pham Ngoc Thien Cuong, Founder of IT Systems Vietnam, presented “Challenges in applying AI to education.”

A panel discussion on “Applying Artificial Intelligence in Education: Opportunities and Challenges” was held within the seminar framework, along with the signing of an MoU between Tra Vinh University and Ma Hai Bakery brand through the project “Journey to Reach Far Vietnam.”

The event also included the appointment of Ms. Nguyen Thi Tieu Mi as Executive Director of the “Journey to Reach Far Vietnam” Project in the Mekong Delta region, the handover of bread carts to beneficiary members, and the awarding of prizes for a book review contest on startups and business with the theme “Reading Together – Review Challenge.”

The seminar served as a forum for speakers to share multifaceted perspectives, from building an AI knowledge foundation for teachers and learners to applying AI in practice, addressing information security issues, and bringing a new perspective on the role of AI in education.
