Representing Tra Vinh University are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, vice rector of Tra Vinh University and chief commander of the 2025 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign; Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, secretary of the Youth Union, president of the Student Association, and permanent deputy commander of the campaign; and Mr. Nguyen Van Long, chief of the TVU Party Committee Office and deputy commander of the campaign.
Also present are leaders of various departments of Tra Vinh University, leaders and youth volunteers operating in Thanh Thoi and Tan An communes, along with local people, students, and 50 core volunteers stationed in Thanh Thoi.

In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung reflects on the campaign’s humble beginnings in 2002, when just 84 student volunteers set out to serve three remote communes in Tra Vinh. From those first steps, the campaign grows into a lasting journey marked by dedication, responsibility, and heartfelt compassion.

The campaign expands significantly in 2025, with more than 3,000 volunteers divided into 13 specialized teams and 2 standing teams comprising 50 core volunteers stationed in Tan An and Thanh Thoi communes. Many key activities take place, attracting over 5,000 youth participants: building two charity houses (worth VND 100 million), installing a children’s playground (VND 20 million), lighting rural roads with solar-powered lights (VND 80 million), repairing over 15 km of rural roads, providing 20 scholarships (VND 20 million) to disadvantaged students, donating 65 gift packages (VND 30 million) to policy-beneficiary families, offering free medical checkups and medication, and organizing technical training in agriculture and environmental protection activities.
The total resources mobilized for the 2025 campaign reach over VND 500 million, demonstrating effective collaboration among the university, local authorities, and sponsors.
On the same day, the campaign’s leadership visits the volunteers and inaugurates two youth projects: Flower road and Lighting up rural roads, contributing to improved landscapes and traffic safety.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep notes that in terms of social welfare, the campaign donates a charity house worth VND 50 million to a disadvantaged household and gives 20 gift packages to policy-beneficiary families and poor households. These activities reflect the spirit of solidarity and gratitude toward the community.
Regarding rural infrastructure improvement, the Lighting up rural roads and Flag road projects are implemented with a budget of VND 20 million, helping ensure road safety, maintain public order, and beautify the rural landscape.
The campaign also organizes a candlelight tribute ceremony at the martyrs’ temple and cemetery to honor the sacrifices of national heroes of the commune. In addition, two free English classes are held, attracting hundreds of students and enhancing their language skills before the new academic year.
In the environmental field, the Exchange plastic waste for school supplies program is conducted twice, along with the collection of hundreds of tons of garbage, raising public awareness of environmental protection.
Production support activities are also promoted, including agricultural technical training for farmers—especially women—on practical topics such as home-based substrate production and pest prevention for fruit borers and coconut black-headed caterpillar.
These activities make a significant impact, closely aligned with local needs, contributing to rural development, improving living standards, and providing opportunities for students to develop skills and strengthen community bonds. The total value contributed to the campaign in Thanh Thoi commune is estimated at VND 100 million, along with numerous volunteer workdays from Tra Vinh University students.
The show is not limited to performances by volunteers and university art clubs but also features appearances by actor Thanh Thuc, singer Thien Huong, singer Phan Nhu Thuy, and singer Nguyen Trung (runner-up of Solo Bolero).

Twenty scholarships are awarded at the event to students in difficult circumstances in Thanh Thoi commune by the campaign’s leadership, sponsored by various donors, bringing encouragement and support to help them continue their education.

More than just a music night, Aspiration in the blue shirt serves as a heartfelt tribute to the silent yet meaningful contributions of the student volunteers — young individuals passionately serving the community. The program helps spread the message of social responsibility, solidarity, and the aspiration to build a better homeland.
