TVU – On the afternoon of April 6, Tra Vinh University welcomed and worked with the delegation of Foreign Trade University, University of Labour and Social Affairs, and Peace University on the draft syllabus of the productivity and quality course for Economics and Business Administration programs.
On behalf of Tra Vinh University, there were Assoc. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Rector of the School of Economics and Law; Dr. Tieu Thanh Thuy, Director of the Center for Learning Materials, Teaching and Learning Development; and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, Head of the Department of Post Graduate Studies.
On the delegation’s side were Assoc. Dr. Bui Anh Tuan, President of Foreign Trade University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hoang Nam, Head of Research Management Department, Foreign Trade University; Meritorious Teacher. Dr. Ha Xuan Hung, Principal of the University of Labour and Social Affairs; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thi Thanh, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Peace University.
At the meeting, the delegates discussed the draft syllabus, which was designed based on the PCDA cycle for Economics and Business Administration majors. The course was divided into four main sections: an overview of managing productivity and quality improvement, fundamental information and tools for measuring productivity and quality, total productivity and quality management activities in businesses, and state management of productivity and quality. University representatives gathered to discuss, offer suggestions, and adjust the draft on output standards, faculty resources, testing methods, etc.
According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Tra Vinh University would be constantly prepared to cooperate with universities in researching, building, and improving the course. Tra Vinh University was also willing to share resources for other units during the course acceptance test process in order to put them into teaching.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Anh Tuan stated that the Ministry of Science and Technology assigned Foreign Trade University and the universities to build quality and productivity courses for teaching in universities. He hoped to have more opportunities to cooperate and discuss with the universities about research activities in this field to build a complete set of textbooks that can soon be put into teaching in educational institutions.
