Tra Vinh, June 28, 2013 – In the afternoon of June 27, Canada’s 146th Anniversary was taken place at Tra Vinh University (TVU).
Mr. Audri Mukhopadhyay, Consul General of Canada to Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City; Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong, Vice Chairwoman of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee and Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector cum Chairman of Vietnam- Canada Friendship Association of Tra Vinh province honourably participated in the ceremony.
Mr. Audri Mukhopadhyay expressed his pleasure to the great relation between the two countries especially in co-operation on trade and education.
Tra Vinh province has been received much precious support to its economic social development from Canadian government and citizens since 1992. “On behalf of people in Tra Vinh province, I would like to express my gratitude to Canadian government and citizens for your great contribution”, Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong said. On the occasion, Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong sent her best wishes to Canadian people and the country and hoped Tra Vinh province to receive more support from Canadian government and citizens.
The diplomatic relation between Vietnam and Canada has officially been established and developed since August 21, 1973. Canada has provided much help to Vietnam involving international integration.

Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh sent his best wishes to Canadian people and wished the relation between Consulate General of Canada to Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City and Tra Vinh University more everlasting and developmental.
Tra Vinh University (TVU)
TVU was Tra Vinh Community College (TVCC) which was established in 2001 under Vietnam Canada Community College Project. TVU has been upgraded from TVCC since 2006. There are 11 faculties and over 20,000 students. TVU offers multi levels including articulation courses and variety of learning mode. Its mission is to provide skilled human resource and applied research.
