Ceremony of the traditional sports festival welcoming the 41st Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day on November 20

(TVU) – On the morning of October 28, at the football field of Campus 1, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Member of the Party Committee, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University announced the opening of the traditional sports festival welcoming the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2023); welcoming the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 – 2024 Academic year, towards the 11th National Congress of Vietnamese Student Associations, term 2023 – 2028.

Attending were Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Member of the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee, Secretary of the School Youth Union, Chairman of the School’s Student Association; the Board of the Youth Union – Student Association of the University, sponsors and representatives of leaders from departments and faculties.

Opening the sports festival, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Member of the Party Committee, Vice-Rector of the University, said: The sports festival has become a traditional cultural feature of generations of Tra Vinh University students over the past years. It contributes to encouraging and motivating students to actively practice sports to improve their physical and mental health as well as learning effectiveness; creating an exciting atmosphere, and enhancing exchange, learning, solidarity, and bonding among the university’s units.

This is an event that provides a healthy and useful playground and cheers up the sports spirit among Tra Vinh University students. In addition, the festival discovers and fosters core sports talents for the University to participate in tournaments and exchanges with other units inside and outside the province.

Vice-Rector Thach Thi Dan believes that with the spirit of solidarity and honest competition of athletes, the tournaments will be successfully organized.

According to Ms. Pham Le Phuong Thao, Secretary of the Youth Union, Chairman of the Student Association, the sports festival takes place from October 28 to November 18, 2023, attracting over 400 athletes from the Youth Union and Student Association to compete in: men’s – women’s football; men’s volleyball (indoor volleyball) – women’s volleyball (beach volleyball).

At the same time, the Trade Union of Tra Vinh University also opened a sports festival welcoming the 41st Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2023) and the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 – 2024 Academic year from October 28 to November 17, 2023, with many competitions: mini men’s football; combined men’s – women’s beach volleyball; men’s – women’s cross country running; online walking; iron balls; leather balls and traditional games: Steps of solidarity; Passing lemons; Harvesting crops; Brick walking; Jumping sack attracting officials, lecturers and employees of the University to compete.
