Charity football tournament brings excitement to Tra Vinh University

TVU – A thrilling four-team charity football tournament starts this morning at Tra Vinh University’s football field. The event aims to raise funds for disadvantaged students in Phong Thanh commune, Cau Ke district.

The opening ceremony sees representatives from participating clubs in attendance, including Mr. Phan Thanh Son, Chairman of FC Vui Ve Vinh Long; Mr. Dang Tan, Chairman of Tinh Bang Huu Football Club, Ben Tre; and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Chung, Director of Trung Ngoc Sports Complex. Players from all teams are also present.

Representing Tra Vinh University are Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam, Dean of the School of Physical Education and Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Huyen, Vice Dean of the School of Physical Education and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee; Ms. Tran An Nha, Deputy Head of the Training Department; and Ms. Ly Thi Diem Thuy, Deputy Head of the Student Affairs Department.

The tournament features four teams: Trung Ngoc Football Club (Tra Vinh), Tinh Bang Huu Football Club (Ben Tre), FC Vui Ve (Vinh Long), and the host team – Tra Vinh University Football Club. Their participation promises exciting and intense matches, drawing enthusiastic support from many spectators.

Dr. Lieu Thanh Tam thanks the participating clubs and the university for organizing this meaningful event. The tournament raises 22,200,000 VND, which will be transferred to Phong Thanh commune to support disadvantaged students, prioritizing the purchase of health insurance. Beyond its charitable goal, the tournament also creates a healthy environment for athletes to improve their fitness and exchange experiences.

As the final whistle blows, Trung Ngoc Football Club emerges victorious, claiming the championship title. The host team, Tra Vinh University Football Club, secures second place. FC Vui Ve and Tinh Bang Huu Football Club take third and fourth places, respectively. Beyond the competitive aspect, the tournament allows athletes to interact, learn from each other, and strengthen bonds of solidarity.
