(TVU) – On February 20, 2024, the Faculty of Education, School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities, Tra Vinh University, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh Province, organized the conference on pedagogical internship in the 2023 – 2024 school year at Tra Vinh University.
Attending the conference were Mrs. Thach Thi Dan – Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, Ms. Tang Thi Ngoc Mai – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh province, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan – Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Tra Vinh province, representatives of the Steering Committee for the pedagogical internship in the 2023 – 2024 school year along with 788 students participating in pedagogical internship in 2023 – 2034.
In the opening ceremony, Mrs. Thach Thi Dan, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, stated: “Tra Vinh University’s training unit always creates favorable conditions for students to participate in pedagogical practice with the best results, thereby preparing students to get close to the profession, combining theory with practice. I hope that today’s conference will receive feedback to learn from experience and come up with more appropriate and effective measures for future practice.”
Ms. Lam Thi Bach Tuyet, Vice Principal of the School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities, said: “In the 2023 – 2024 school year, the total number of students taking pedagogical internships is 788. Of these, 206 students in pedagogical internship 2 and final internship of Primary Education and Early Childhood Education at ten pedagogical internship facilities in the area achieved high results. There were no students with average and poor results.”
Ms. Tang Thi Ngoc Mai, Deputy Director of the Department of Education of Tra Vinh province, said: “Lecturers of the Faculty of Pedagogy, School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities need to go to each pedagogical internship facility to observe teaching activities of both instructors and interns to promptly provide feedback to help both instructors and interns learn experience, thereby improving teaching efficiency.”
Giving a directive speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tuan, Deputy Director of Tra Vinh Department of Education, affirmed: “Although the training and internship work is small, it has great significance in the process of training students, connecting theory with practice. At the same time, he asked the members of the Steering Committee to coordinate closely with pedagogical training and internship facilities to complete the pedagogical internship work, creating greater cohesion between the units.”
At the conference, delegates listened to the report summarizing the pedagogical internship in September and December, 2023 in order to evaluate the results, acknowledge and learn from experience in perfecting the program for the new school year, listen to the feedback, suggestions, and frank contributions of the schools that accept students for internships, thereby taking appropriate measures to improve pedagogical internships more and more effectively. From there, the Steering Committee orients and implements the internship plan for February 2024.
