Cultural exchange program between Vietnam and Japan in Tra Vinh

TVU – This is an activity commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (21/9/1973 – 21/9/2023), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, entrusted to Tra Vinh province for implementation, scheduled to take place on September 29, 2023.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, the Rector of Tra Vinh University, reports on the progress of program preparations.

On the afternoon of September 5th, Mr. Le Thanh Binh, a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the 3rd edition of the Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange program in Tra Vinh (Steering Committee), chaired a meeting of Steering Committee members to discuss and agree on the content of coordinating the organization of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (21/9/1973 – 21/9/2023). This program is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, entrusted to Tra Vinh province for implementation, scheduled to take place on September 29, 2023.

The Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange program includes the following main activities: exhibition and introduction of characteristic products, artworks, and cuisine of Tra Vinh, traditional musical instrument performances, the creation of Vietnamese-Japanese cultural spaces, calligraphy and painting, a seminar on “Career Orientation in Japan in the New Situation,” information on the achievements of Tra Vinh province in Vietnam-Japan cooperation…

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, the Rector of Tra Vinh University, the unit responsible for the program’s implementation, provides a preliminary report on the tasks completed. This includes the anticipated activities during the program, the budget for organizing the program, and proposing coordination tasks with related departments and sectors.

Tra Vinh University has submitted documents to the Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City proposing rewards for individuals and organizations with achievements in promoting Japanese culture, image, and people. They have also proposed a budget for program implementation, sent invitations to participating units, and drafted a guest list. At the same time, they have arranged cultural and artistic performances at the program, with a focus on showcasing traditional musical instruments of both countries… In the upcoming plan, the unit will invite delegates to attend, enhance promotion of the program…

Delegates exchanged opinions on the invitation letter, logistical work, event promotion, communication, opening ceremony procedures, and speeches by provincial leaders at the program, as well as the program’s ceremony…

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee – Mr. Le Thanh Binh provided guidance on the implementation of the Vietnam-Japan cultural exchange program.

In conclusion, Mr. Le Thanh Binh emphasized the need for Tra Vinh University and Steering Committee members to promptly complete remaining tasks. They should report and seek opinions when facing difficulties or obstacles in implementation, ensuring the progress of the program, and paying attention to the cultural characteristics of both countries during the event.
