DACUM seminar for Cultural Studies

TVU – The School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, and Arts organized on December 18 the DACUM seminar for the postgraduate program in Cultural Studies with the participation of leaders, alumni, and experts in the field of culture.

Mr. Thach Mu Ni, Deputy Head of the Tra Vinh province’s Department of Ethnic Minority Affairs; Dr. Nguyen Thi Hue, Dean of the School of Southern Khmer Language, Culture, and Arts; Dr. Dang Diep Minh Tan, Head of the Quality Assurance Department; and Dr. Le Thuy An, Head of the Department of Cultural Studies are all present at the seminar along with experts, lecturers, and students.

According to Dr. Nguyen Thi Hue, the seminar offeres a venue for networking among professionals, students, and employers. Additionally, it provides the university with a chance to review the training program and gather feedback, which will be used to raise the standard of training for the Master’s Degree in Cultural Studies at Tra Vinh University.

The participants in the seminar share ideas, engage in discussion, and take part in a survey on the job potential of students after completing the Master’s program in Cultural Studies. Besides, recruiters, graduates, and students share their real experiences as well as challenges that they have faced at work.

Mr. Thach Mu Ni stresses the significance of research and training in the area of culture on this occasion. He also discusses how to incorporate distinctive cultural elements from the area, particularly the culture of the Southern Khmer, in the curriculum. Moreover, students should have political courage and self-study ability in a multicultural environment. Thereby, they would be able to promote the nation’s positive values while assimilating the cultural essence of humanity, considering culture as the foundation of socio-economic development and global integration.
