Tra Vinh University (TVU) – 30 high school students in Tra Vinh province have learnt English at School of Foreign Languages for the next two years according to “English Access Microscholarship Program”.
The beneficiaries of this project receive full scholarships for learning English at the university. They only spend two evenings at class per week, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, for this program. Beyond class hours, they have opportunity to join extracurricular activities and fieldtrips. Both their class time and extracurricular hours, they have many great chances to communicate with international volunteers and experts.
“After two years, these students certainly gain basic English skills. This program helps them be more active and confident to communicate with native speakers”, said Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Nam, Dean of School of Foreign Languages.
“English Access Microscholarship Program” has been implemented in Tra Vinh University for the next two years, from Dec 5 2015 to Dec 5 2017, as the signed agreement by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Tra Vinh University Rector and Director Beverly H. Attallah, Global Connections, the United States Department of State, Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.
