Establishment of the Faculty and Institute of Information and Communication Technology in the Mekong Delta

TVU – On February 18, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thai Son, Director of the Resource Development Institute (RDI – TVU), together with the delegation from Tra Vinh University participated in the Conference on establishing the Association of Faculties – Institutes – Schools of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the Mekong Delta region – FISU Mekong Delta, held at Can Tho University.

FISU Mekong Delta (Mekong Delta Club of Faculties Institutes Schools Universities of ICT) is a professional association under the FISU Vietnam Association, comprising members including faculties, institutes, schools, and universities involved in education and research in the field of information and communication technology (ICT) in the Mekong Delta region. FISU Mekong Delta is established with the aim of gathering, connecting, guiding, sharing, and contributing to the common voice in the activities of training, research, and transferring projects and services in the field of ICT among education and research institutions in the Mekong Delta region.

The Conference elected the Executive Committee of FISU Mekong Delta for the term of 2023-2025, which consists of 14 members, including 1 chairman, 3 vice chairmen, and 10 members, with Dr. Nguyen Huu Hoa, Rector of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Can Tho University, serving as the chairman and Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thai Son, Director of the Resource Development Institute at Tra Vinh University, serving as the vice chairman.

At the Conference, all delegates discussed the direction of activities for the term of 2023-2025, organized activities of sub-committees, subordinate units, and communication channels of the association. At the same time, representatives of the institutions signed cooperation agreements on university and postgraduate education, scientific research and technology transfer, quality assurance of education, and international cooperation.
