Former student of Tra Vinh University wins the Tra Vinh Homeland Press Award in 2023

TVU – Tra Vinh University’s former student, Nguyen Hoang Nam, who graduated from the Office Administration program in 2011, received the second edition of the Tra Vinh Homeland Press Award in 2023.

The award was presented on June 20, 2023, and Nguyen Hoang Nam, currently serving as the advisor of TVU Communication Club, won the 3rd price of printing media categories for his work titled “Preserving Specialties: Wax Coconut Through Cell Tissue Cultivation Technology.”

Sharing his thoughts on receiving the award, Nguyen Hoang Nam expressed his honor and gratitude. He mentioned that after 8 years of being involved in the field of journalism, in addition to winning writing competitions organized by the Youth Union and Tra Vinh University, this award holds a special significance to him. He sees it as a gift and an opportunity to express his appreciation to the faculty at Tra Vinh University for nurturing and providing him with the chance to learn and accumulate experiences in the field of media and journalism.

The awarded work, “Preserving Specialties: Wax Coconut Through Cell Tissue Cultivation Technology,” highlights the local value of wax coconut and the regeneration of wax coconut trees through cell tissue cultivation methods. It also emphasizes the importance of suitable cultivation practices for preserving, conserving, propagating, and developing high-value coconut varieties, contributing to agricultural development, and improving the livelihoods of local residents in Tra Vinh.

The Tra Vinh Homeland Press Award, held for the second time in 2023, reflects current events, economic and cultural developments, and social achievements in the province of Tra Vinh. It serves as a platform to promote Tra Vinh’s homeland during its construction and development. The organizing committee received 50 submissions from 32 participants in various categories including print media, photography, electronic media, radio, and photojournalism. The evaluation board selected 21 out of the 50 works for awards, including 2 first prizes, 8-second prizes, 6 third prizes, and 5 honorable mentions.
