Free oral examination, consultation, and treatment week for the community

(TVU) – Responding to the “World Oral Health Day (March 20th)” initiated by the Vietnam Dental Association with the theme “Be proud of your smile”, the Faculty Odonto – Stomatology (TVU) organized a “Free oral examination, consultation, and treatment week” from March 06-10, 2023, at the Clinical Practice Area of the Faculty of Dentistry.

On March 06, 2023, the opening ceremony was held with the attendance of Associate Professor Le Van Don, Vice Chairman of the Advisory Council; Assoc. Prof. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, representatives of sponsoring companies, leaders of the Faculty of Dentistry, doctors, lecturers, postgraduate students, undergraduates, and many people participating in the program.

Associate Professor Nguyen Doan Hoai, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Dentistry, said: “The free oral examination, consultation, and treatment week for people aims to raise people’s awareness about the importance of oral health in reducing the risk of oral diseases and improving practical skills for students.”

The examination and treatment time is from 7:00 to 17:00 from March 06, 2023. Before that, the Faculty of Dentistry, Tra Vinh University arranged equipment, protective gear, gloves, examination sticks, and assigned staff and treatment rooms for the oral examination and treatment.

All doctors and staff of the Faculty participate in the examination and treatment process, including oral examination, tartar removal, filling, and tooth extraction. Patients will be consulted based on their current oral health condition and appropriate treatment plans will be made.

According to Assoc. Prof. Phan Quoc Nghia – Vice Rector of Tra Vinh University, “This is a meaningful activity, which is one of the three major tasks of the University, including teaching, scientific research, and community service. We hope that everyone has the best experience when coming for treatment at the Faculty and the program will have a wide impact on the community.”

Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, living in Ward 6, Tra Vinh City, who was just treated by doctors, said: “After being examined and consulted about my current oral health condition, the doctors quickly came up with solutions and treatment plans. I am very satisfied with the attitude and flexible working style of the doctors here.”

In recent years, Tra Vinh University has organized many awareness campaigns, examinations, and instructions on how to take care of oral health.
