TVU – Vo Hanh Nhung, a second-year English Language major at Tra Vinh University, secures second prize at the 2024 Korean Speaking Contest, winning an opportunity to participate in an academic exchange program in Seoul this October.
Hanh Nhung’s decision to pursue Linguistics at Tra Vinh University marked the beginning of a transformative journey filled with challenges. She has achieved several academic accomplishments through her determined study and the devoted support of her TVU teachers.
Beyond her studies, Hanh Nhung actively engages in extracurricular activities at Tra Vinh University to enhance her knowledge and soft skills. Her interest in the Korean language leads her to compete in the Korean Speaking and Writing Contest sponsored by the King Sejong Institute Foundation, where she impressively clinches second prize in the Speaking category.
This outstanding performance earns Hanh Nhung a spot in Seoul’s October 2024 academic and cultural exchange program, organized by the King Sejong Institute Foundation. She will be joined by fellow Tra Vinh University student Pham Tran Yen Vy, who won first prize in the Writing category.
Hanh Nhung’s passion for languages, nurtured at Tra Vinh University, drives her success. She credits the support from her family, TVU teachers, and friends in overcoming challenges during the contest. “Perseverance is crucial,” Hanh Nhung states, “as every setback presents an opportunity for growth and improvement.”
Before this achievement, Hanh Nhung had already distinguished herself in the “Champions of Change” competition, where she and her team from Tra Vinh University secured third place overall after competing against 26 teams from various regions.
Vo Hanh Nhung exemplifies the ideal Tra Vinh University student – passionate about foreign languages and effectively utilizing her skills. Her achievements serve as motivation for continued learning and success in her academic pursuits at TVU and beyond.
