(TVU) – The grand finale of the “Elegant Student – Mister & Miss TVU 2024” contest, themed “Beauty of Knowledge,” takes place on June 16th at Tra Vinh University. The event showcases 19 finalists competing in traditional ao dai and evening gown categories.
The event, marking TVU’s 18th anniversary, sees contestants gliding across the stage in traditional ao dai and dazzling evening wear. Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot, Deputy Party Secretary, emphasizes the contest’s role in highlighting student achievements and promoting the university’s image.
“This competition is about more than appearances,” Dr. Muoi Mot states. “It’s a celebration of our students’ intelligence, confidence, and commitment to community service.”
The judging panel, featuring international entrepreneur Dr. David Nghiem and popular singer-actor Thanh Thuc, evaluates contestants on multiple criteria. After a series of challenging rounds, including a critical Q&A session, Kim Thi Ry Da and Nguyen Thanh Hoai emerge victorious as Miss and Mister TVU 2024, respectively.
“I’m overwhelmed and surprised,” says Ry Da, moments after her crowning. “I promise to work hard to live up to this honor and be a positive role model for my fellow students.”
Thanh Hoai, the newly crowned Mister TVU, shares his vision: “I hope to use this platform to connect students, not just within TVU but across different institutions, for meaningful projects that contribute to our university’s development.”
The event, live-streamed on social media, garners widespread student and local community attention. It showcases the participants’ elegance and involvement in various charitable activities leading up to the finale.
As the curtain falls on another successful year, the “Elegant Student” contest continues to be a cornerstone event at TVU, fostering personal growth and community spirit among its diverse student population.
