(TVU) – On September 12, 2024, The Center of National Defense Education at Tra Vinh University hosts a conference on collaborative training in national defense and security education. The conference aims to summarize, evaluate, and draw lessons from the 2023-2024 academic year while seeking more flexible and effective solutions for collaborative teaching of national defense and security education to students in the 2024-2025 academic year.

The conference is attended by high-ranking military officials from various regions and institutions, including representatives from Military Region 9, provincial military commands of Tra Vinh, Vinh Long, Ben Tre, and Tien Giang, and officials from other educational institutions.
Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector, other university officials, and the Center of National Defense Education faculty represent Tra Vinh University.

In his opening speech, Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia emphasizes the importance of national defense and security education for students. He notes that in recent years, the Center has continuously innovated its teaching methods to meet the training requirements for students from 12 universities and colleges across four provinces, with an annual student capacity of 6,000 to 8,000.
The conference presents a report on implementing collaborative national defense and security education for the 2023-2024 academic year and the training plan for 2024-2025. Tra Vinh University’s Center for National Defense Education has invested in infrastructure and equipment to ensure quality training for students on campus.
Representatives from partner institutions praise the Center’s organizational efforts in collaborative training. They note that the staff, lecturers, facilities, and infrastructure adequately support students’ learning, training, and living needs.
During the discussion, participants exchange views on various aspects of the training process, including planning, certificate issuance, training duration, and tuition fees for national defense and security education courses.

Mr. Truong Minh Hai, Deputy Director of the Center for National Defense Education, acknowledges the feedback and discusses national defense and security education challenges. This input will be a crucial basis for the Center and the University to refine their training programs for maximum effectiveness. The Center plans to review and propose appropriate adjustments in line with regulations, reporting to relevant authorities shortly.
