Tra Vinh University (TVU) and the Society for Infectious Diseases in the Mekong Delta are co-hosting the 4th expanded scientific conference on September 14, 2024. The event focuses on \u201cUpdated diagnosis and treatment of infectious and contagious diseases.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The conference attracts notable delegates from various medical institutions across Vietnam, including representatives from the Vietnam Medical Association, Vietnam Society for Infectious Diseases, and regional health departments. Dr. Phan Quoc Nghia, Vice-Rector, and other key school members lead TVU\u2019s delegation.<\/p>\n

Dr. Huynh Thi Kim Yen, Chairman of the Society for Infectious Diseases in the Mekong Delta, describes the conference as \u201ca significant scientific event\u201d that allows healthcare professionals to showcase their research and learn from leading experts.<\/p>\n

The conference features two reporting sessions with presentations from prominent scientists and researchers. Topics include updates on dengue fever prevention, hepatitis B and C diagnosis and treatment, syphilis diagnosis trends, and hand, foot, and mouth disease management in children.<\/p>\n

The event serves as a platform for knowledge exchange and fosters connections among scientists and professionals. Additionally, it offers medical students access to the latest developments in their field of study.<\/p>\n

In a show of solidarity, participants raise 26,010,000 VND to support those affected by Typhoon Yagi in the Northern Mountainous region.<\/p>\n

The conference underscores TVU\u2019s commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving healthcare in the Mekong Delta region.<\/p>\n

In the first session, Professor Dr. Ta Van Tram, Principal of TVU\u2019s College of Medicine and Pharmacy and Director of Tien Giang General Hospital, leads with a presentation on \u201cThe Burden of Dengue Fever and New Preventive Weapons.\u201d Dr. Huynh Thi Hong Nhung, Director of TVU Hospital, follows up with a study on Hepatitis B and C infections among Tra Vinh residents aged 15-65.<\/p>\n

Dr. Le Manh Hung, Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases, provides an update on Hepatitis B diagnosis and treatment. Dr. Huynh Thi Kim Yen, former Head of Infectious Diseases at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, discusses the latest Hepatitis C treatment.<\/p>\n

The session continues with Dr. Truong Thien Phu from Cho Ray Hospital presenting on syphilis diagnosis trends. At the same time, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam from Tien Giang General Hospital updates on hand, foot, and mouth disease in children.<\/p>\n

The second session opens with Dr. Nguyen Linh Nhat Dang from Tien Giang General Hospital, discussing purulent meningitis in the elderly. Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Hao, formerly of Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases, presents on sepsis diagnosis and treatment.<\/p>\n

Associate Professor Dr. Pham Thanh Suol from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy explores antibiotic pharmacokinetics in critically ill patients. The symposium concludes with Dr. Tran Huu Dat from MEDLATEC Group presenting on fungal disease diagnosis methods.<\/p>\n
