(TVU) \u2013 On the morning of August 16th<\/sup>, 2021, at Tra Vinh University, the online signing ceremony and launching event of the Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute (TV KSI) are taken place at Tra Vinh University.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The ceremony takes place in a solemn atmosphere with the presence of Mr. Le Van Han \u2013 Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People\u2019s Committee, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dut \u2013 Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs \u2013 General, Office of the Provincial People\u2019s Committee and the delegates joining the ceremony online including the Vietnam Community College Association, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Sam \u2013 Director of King Sejong Institute Ho Chi Minh city 2, Mr. Lee Jang Hyun \u2013 Manager of King Sejong Institute Ho Chi Minh city 2, and representatives of provincial departments.<\/p>\n

On the side of Tra Vinh University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh \u2013 Rector of Tra Vinh University chaired the ceremony, with the online participation of leaders of the Advisory Council and leaders of schools and departments of Tra Vinh University.<\/p>\n

Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute is a reciprocal cooperation project between Tra Vinh University and Seojeong University of Korea, funded by the South Korean government\u2019s King Sejong Institute Foundation for the purpose of language teaching and learning and promoting Korean culture to the community. Management staff, lecturers must meet the professional requirements of King Sejong Institute Foundation and tuition fees are collected according to the community supporting level. TV KSI has many different Korean language teaching programs such as online teaching taught by Seojeong University teachers, a combination of online and face-to-face teaching by the Institute\u2019s teachers. Face-to-face classes are held at Victory Center for Informatics \u2013 Foreign Languages. In addition, TV KSI also has a special designed program for students of Tra Vinh University aiming to achieve TOPIK level 3, which is recognized as a non-specialized foreign language.<\/p>\n

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh \u2013 Rector of Tra Vinh University offers the appointment decision to the Director of TV KSI to Dr. Chau Thi Hoang Hoa \u2013 Deputy Head of International Cooperation and Project Promotion Department, Tra Vinh University.<\/p>\n

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh said: \u201cTra Vinh University really appreciates the support and assistance of Assoc. Dr. Trinh Sam, Mr. Lee Jang Hyun, all the teachers at King Sejong Institute\u00a0 HCM city 2, Mr. Park Young Arm, King Sejong Institute Foundation, along with the companionship and trust from the provincial leaders and departments, members of the Association of Vietnam Community Colleges and departments of Tra Vinh University in implementing this project, so that TVKSI fulfills its mission of teaching and cultural exchange to connect and promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea in Tra Vinh and neighboring provinces. These activities will contribute to the success of Tra Vinh University in its role as a gateway for international cooperation of the province.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTra Vinh province has great demand and potential for international cooperation. Currently, Korean enterprises are one of the partners with large investment capital in Tra Vinh province. Moreover, in Tra Vinh province, there are young people who love Korean culture and want to find opportunities to study and work in Korea. Therefore, the birth of an Institute with the function of teaching and cultural exchange like TV KSI is absolutely necessary. I hope that through this project, Korean language teaching and learning at TVU will develop sustainably in order to join the Department of Education and Training to gradually bring Korean into high schools to teach as a foreign language. TVKSI should have many programs to serve those who work in industrial zones, employees who work seasonally in Korea through the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, or Vietnamese-Korean married families.\u201d \u2013 Mr. Le Van Han \u2013 Chairman of Tra Vinh Provincial People\u2019s Committee, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee said.<\/p>\n

The establishment of the Tra Vinh King Sejong Institute at Tra Vinh University is a valuable opportunity for the University to promote the movement of learning Korean language and culture among students and the community. At the same time, this event marks an important turning point for the growing cooperation relationship of Tra Vinh University with partners from Korea.<\/p>\n
