(TVU) – Tra Vinh University hosts a graduation ceremony this morning, conferring degrees upon 514 new doctors, pharmacists, and health professionals from the class of 2024.
The event draws a distinguished crowd, including Mr. Nguyen Huu Phuoc, Deputy Director of the Tra Vinh Department of Health, and Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of TVU’s Advisory Council. Also present are TVU’s Vice Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, and People’s Doctor Prof. Dr. Ta Van Tram, Director of Tien Giang Hospital and Dean of TVU’s School of Medicine and Pharmacy. Representatives from provincial departments, TVU unit leaders, and proud families of the graduates fill the ceremony hall.
According to the TVU Department of Academic Affairs, the course began with 641 enrollees. By the end of the 2024 academic year, 514 of the 577 remaining students meet graduation requirements, achieving an impressive 89.1% graduation rate. The graduating class comprises 266 Medical majors, 66 Pharmacy majors, 2 Nutrition majors, 15 Medical Imaging Technology majors, 20 Rehabilitation majors, 75 Medical Laboratory majors, and 60 Nursing majors.
People’s Doctor Prof. Dr. Ta Van Tram congratulates the new graduates in his address, expressing hope that they will become medical professionals with political integrity and professional competence. He emphasizes the importance of cultivating moral qualities such as humility, trustworthiness, honesty, and solidarity, urging graduates to enhance their medical knowledge while embodying President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching that “Good doctors are like loving mothers.”
Ms. Luong Thi My Duyen, a new General Medicine graduate, thanks TVU leaders, teachers, staff, and hospital administrators for providing an optimal internship environment. She credits this support for enhancing her knowledge and skills, preparing her to preserve and improve public health.
Vice-Rector Diep Thanh Tung appreciates state agencies, the Tra Vinh Department of Health, and domestic and international partners for their collaboration in the training program. He commends the graduates’ efforts and wishes them success in their careers and personal lives.
The ceremony concludes with special recognition for academic excellence, honoring 3 Magna Cum Laude and 89 Cum Laude graduates.
