On the afternoon of February 22, Tra Vinh University organized a ceremony to present football star Huynh Nhu with the scholarship “Lighting up the golden ball dream”—a full-ride Master’s degree scholarship in Education Management valued at over 100 million VND. |

In Vietnamese football history, Huynh Nhu is one of the best female players ever. She began her professional football career at the age of 16 and quickly became one of the most important players of the Vietnam women’s national football team. |

Huynh Nhu signed a contract with Lank FC in 2022, making history as the first Vietnamese female footballer to go play professionally abroad in Europe. She shone brightly in Portugal and rose to the position of the most successful foreign Vietnamese football player ever. Huynh Nhu is not only well-known for her football prowess but also for her great fortitude and dedication to her career. She overcame a number of obstacles to rank among the best female footballers in Vietnam, and she keeps inspiring the youth and the next generations of football in Vietnam. |

“When I saw the scholarship’s name, I was deeply moved,” Huynh Nhu shared. “This is a chance and a responsibility for me to advance my knowledge and abilities; at the same time, I won’t ignore my duty to pursue education and personal growth in order to become a valuable member of society,” she added. |

Nhu asserted that for a player to advance, they must not only make an effort to acquire and practice new talents but also to overcome adversity. She always had to put in a lot of practice, deal with performance pressure, and keep her position. Therefore, the scholarship was a fantastic source of inspiration for young people like Nhu, enabling her to continue pursuing her academics and interests in the best possible manner. |

On this occasion, Huynh Nhu gave TVU the jersey she wore to play in the play-off match that for the first time advanced Vietnam to the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in Australia and New Zealand in July 2023. Besides, Tra Vinh University also set up a room in the lecture hall for an exhibition of Huynh Nhu’s accomplishments and mementos. |
