TVU – From July 31 to August 2, 2023, Tra Vinh University organizes a training session to enhance the ability of more than 100 officials and lecturers in performing community service tasks.

The training session includes sharing sessions by Dr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, Director of the Center for Research, Consulting, and Training on Local Development (STG) Hanoi, and MSc Le Thi My Hien, a lecturer at the Open University of Ho Chi Minh City.

The main objective of the training is to equip students with knowledge about building a community service team for lecturers and staff of the units under Tra Vinh University.

During the session, experts provide an overview of the Assets-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, tools for discovering resources and development opportunities, as well as techniques to link and mobilize resources and carry out resource-based change planning.

Students are trained in the knowledge, approach skills, and tools for resource discovery and development opportunities, which include active interviews, success stories, personal asset analysis, analysis of natural resources and facilities, potential analysis of organizations, economic analysis of the community, and more.

Each tool is practiced in class to help students understand the ABCD approach and learn how to apply integrated tools to discover resources and the available potential of the community. They are also taught how to link construction resources and implement a development plan, starting from their own success stories.

At the conclusion of the training course, participants share their expectations and future plans and apply their knowledge to support community development in line with the mission set by the University.
