TVU – On July 10, 2024, Tra Vinh University (TVU) holds a closing ceremony for the student exchange program with Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Republic of the Philippines. After a three-month internship (from April 16 to July 12, 2024), eight SLSU students successfully complete the Student Internship Abroad Program (SIAP) at various units: Institute of International Education, Victory Foreign Language – Informatics Center (Tra Vinh University), and Nguyen Thien Thanh Specialized High School.
The ceremony is attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Khanh, Head of the International Cooperation Department; Dr. Cao Thi Hong Cam, Director of Victory Foreign Language – Informatics Center; Dr. Nguyen Huy Thong, Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education, and staff responsible for managing and guiding the interns from TVU. SLSU representatives participate online, including Dr. Clemente H. Cobilla, Head of Tomas Oppus campus; Dr. Pritzel Lee, Head of Student Services and Affairs at SLSU-Tomas Oppus; and Dr. Leslie Elisa S. Cobilla, Internship Program Coordinator of SLSU-Tomas Oppus.
During the event, each intern shares their experiences and lessons learned during the internship. They thank SLSU for the opportunity to intern abroad and TVU’s management and units for facilitating their successful program completion. Representatives from both universities share their evaluations of the students’ internship process, expressing satisfaction with the results of activities such as teaching, extracurricular activities, and cultural exchanges.
The program concludes with presenting completion certificates to the eight SLSU interns.
The internship program has been a collaborative effort between TVU and SLSU since 2013, alongside other areas such as student and faculty exchanges, cultural exchanges, training cooperation, and scientific research. The SLSU interns serve as ambassadors, bringing Philippine culture to interact with Vietnamese culture and contributing to strengthening the cooperative relationship between the two universities and countries.
