Tra Vinh, September 27th , 2013- On September 25th and 26th, Ms. Marie Eve Morin, Academic Advisor, Multicultural Education Center, Marie-Victorin College and the delegation paid a visit to Tra Vinh University (TVU) to explore collaboration opportunities between the institutions.
This visit was not only for working with TVU faculties and students but also for meeting the member colleges and universities of Vietnam Association of Community Colleges (VACC). In the friendly atmosphere, all parties had mutual learning and wonderful exploration about the interesting histories, institutional capacity, strategic vision, mysterious development process and cooperative potential, especially in training affairs between Marie-Victorin College and TVU as well as VACC’s institutions.

Marie-Victorin College
Marie-Victorin College was founded in 1965 as a teachers’ college specializing in teacher training. In 1969, the institution became a private college providing general education and professional training. In 1993, the Quebec government acquired the College and made it the province’s 47th public college. The Multicultural Education Center was established in the summer of 2002. The mission of the Multicultural Education Center is to provide a variety of college programs to students from various ethnic backgrounds in order to prepare their successful and customized transition to university studies or to integrate the job market.
Vietnam Association of Community Colleges
Vietnam Association of Community Colleges is a social- professional organization, representing a common voice of universities, colleges and other training institutions following the community college model in Vietnam. The organization runs for common benefits and growth of the whole organization as well as of each member so as to promote and develop a lifelong-learning model that makes a positive contribution to socio- economic development of Vietnam.
Tra Vinh University
Tra Vinh University (often referred to as TVU) is a public university located in the city of Tra Vinh, a beautiful green city of trees, parks, rice fields, and rivers in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta. TVU has grown from Tra Vinh Community College and earned the university status in 2006. More than 20,000 students are at present enrolled at TVU’s 11 faculties. With its motto ‘bringing quality learning opportunity to community’, TVU offers a wide range of programs from nationally recognised vocational qualifications to postgraduate degree levels. In addition, the University runs a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in partnership with internationally recognised higher education institutions including Canada’s Vancouver Island and Southern Leyte (Philippines) universities.
