(TVU) – On January 29, Mr. Thach Du, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Cambodia visit and present gifts to Cambodian international students studying at Tra Vinh University on the occasion of celebrating the new year 2021.
Attending the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of the University, Ms. Thach Thi Dan, Vice-Rector and Cambodian students studying at TVU.
According to the annual Vietnamese Tet holiday schedule, international students will be able to take leave and return to the country to reunite with their families, but due to the epidemic Covid -19, so they have to stay in Vietnam.
To help them have a warm and happy Vietnamese Tet atmosphere with Vietnamese students, the Principal suggested the school’s units create conditions for Cambodian international students to celebrate Tet with their families of Vietnamese students as well as an exchange to learn Vietnamese culture.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Thach Du expresses his happiness and hopes the Cambodian students at Tra Vinh University always be active, united and study hard.
In current conditions, he hopes Cambodian students stay in Vietnam, in Tra Vinh to welcome the traditional new year with Vietnamese students, continue to explore the Vietnamese culture, exchange learning and efforts in their study and improve professional skills.
Nut Pheng, a 3rd-year student in General Medicine, says that Tra Vinh University is as his second home.
“We can learn the language and culture of the country, study professionally and confidently speak Vietnamese. Thanks to the enthusiastic guidance and support of Vietnamese teachers and students, we have a very dynamic learning environment. It brings a lot of experience for international students. Especially, living Tra Vinh is very secure and friendly like in Cambodia” – Cambodian international students confided.
On this occasion, the students would like to thank the Government of Vietnam, the Ambassador of Vietnam to Cambodia, for creating favorable conditions for Cambodian international students.
On the occasion of Spring 2021, Mr. Thach Du and TVU’s Administrators Board present gifts to international students, share the joy of welcoming the traditional Vietnamese New Year.
