Online scientific seminar “Improving the quality of national defense and security education at the Center for Education in National Defense and Security of Tra Vinh University in new condition”

(TVU) – On the morning of October 19, 2021, Tra Vinh University held a scientific seminar on improving the quality of national defense and security education at the Center for Education in National Defense and Security of Tra Vinh University in the new condition. The seminar attracted the attention of delegates and lecturers from universities, colleges and the participation of comrades in the Military Command of Tra Vinh province.

The seminar had the presence of Mr. Nguyen Van Con, Vice-Rector of Nam Bo Agricultural College of Tien Giang province, MSc. Ngo Quoc Phong, Vice-Rector of Dong Khoi College, lecturers from the universities and colleges inside and outside the province; Major Vo Chi Phuong, Assistant to the Militia Committee – the Military Command of Tra Vinh province. From Tra Vinh University, there were the attendances of Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Vice-Rector and Director of the Center for Education in National Defense and Security of Tra Vinh University; Mr. Tran Van Trong, Former Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, and lecturers of the Center for Education in National Defense and Security of Tra Vinh University.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Minh Hoa, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, emphasized: “Improving the quality of national defense and security education is one of the important and decisive factors in building and protecting the country.”

According to the Vice-Rector, the number of university students is increasing day by day. Therefore, the staff from the Center for Education in National Defense and Security of Tra Vinh University needs to research to improve the constructed-response test, register to build the multiple-choice question bank, and encourage lecturers to do scientific research towards improving teaching methods, evaluating subjects with applied research and creating teaching models.

Ten papers reported at the seminar focused on improving the quality and awareness of national defense and security education for students, teaching support applications, linking in training national defense and security education.

The seminar has properly assessed the position, role, and necessity of renewing the curriculum and contents of defense-security education. In particular, the discussions agreed to propose basic issues for the renewal of programs, contents, teaching methods for many people, especially university students.
