Opening ceremony for the Undergraduate Program on Development Economics at TVU

In the morning of September 14th, 2012, Tra Vinh University (TVU) and the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) formally organized the Opening Ceremony for the Undergraduate Program 2012, major in Development Economics in part-time form. Ms. Son Thi Anh Hong, Standing Commissioner of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee and Vice president of Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee attended the ceremony.

Attending the ceremony, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, President of UEH; Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, Rector of TVU; Mr. Tran Hoan Kim, Chairman of TVU Advisory Council; representatives of Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee; Department of Home Affairs and lecturers of the two Universities and 118 new students.

This course is under the Project of planning and developing human resource for the social and economic development in the period from 2011 to 2020 in Tra Vinh province. Its aim is to widen their knowledge, enhance their executive and manageable capacity as well as mission implementation capacity of governmental officials in the province. On this occasion, Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh congratulated 118 new students and expressed his expectation to the students’ efforts to obtain the best results during the course. He also expressed his gratitude to Tra Vinh Provincial Communist Party Committee, Tra Vinh Provincial People’s Committee and related Departments for their support and expressed his sincere thanks to UEH for the co-operation in training and developing human resource for Tra Vinh province in particular and Mekong Delta in general.
