TVU – On May 16th, Tra Vinh University organized the opening ceremony of a Vietnamese language class for Cambodian international students in the course of 2023 who were admitted under the 2023 scholarship.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Sang Sereymony, Major of Phnom Penh Metropolitan Police; Mr. Pham Thi Hong Diem, Deputy Director of the Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Tra Vinh Province; Dr. Nguyen Tien Dung – Vice Chairmen of the Advisory Council; Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice-Rector of Tra Vinh University, leaders of units under the Tra Vinh University and Cambodian parents and international students come to study at TVU.
In 2023, there are 36 Cambodian international students enrolled in the TVU-BNV scholarship (for the Secretary of State, Ministry of Home Affairs); TVU-BGD scholarship (for Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports); DBTV scholarship (for Vietnamese language preparatory year tuition fee) at TVU. After being admitted, Cambodian international students will study for a year of a Vietnamese preparatory program (including the Vietnamese language preparatory program and the additional knowledge program according to the selection subject combination). After completing the program, Cambodian international students will be placed in the same major as Vietnamese students.
In her opening speech at the opening ceremony, Dr. Thach Thi Dan said: TVU is a public university with 13 programs meeting the quality accreditation from international standard organizations such as AUN-QA, FIBAA, and ABET, operating with the motto “ Bring quality learning opportunities to community”. Tra Vinh University is committed to creating favorable conditions to help Cambodian students study and practice at the University.
On behalf of the Cambodian exchange students, Keng Chankolbotr, would like to express their sincere gratitude to the TVU Board of Directors and the faculty members of Tra Vinh University for providing us with supportive conditions during our studies at the university. They promise to continuously strive for knowledge, enhance our academic skills, and dedicate ourselves to achieving the highest academic achievements.
On this occasion, TVU gave 36 gifts to Cambodian international students to encourage and motivate students while studying at Tra Vinh University.
