TVU – On May 26, 2023, Tra Vinh University organizes the 2nd Scientific Conference on “Research issues on national defense and security education for students”.
The workshop is attended by Major Ngô Tùng Thảo, Assistant to the Militia Department representing the standing agency of the Council of National Defense and Security Education of Tra Vinh province, and representatives of school leaders, including Western Civil Engineering University, Branch of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in Vinh Long, Vinh Long College, Vinh Long Vocational College, Tien Giang College, Tien Giang Medical College, Southern Agricultural College, Dong Khoi College, Ben Tre College, Tra Vinh Vocational College, and Tra Vinh Medical College.
From Tra Vinh University, there are Dr. Phan Quốc Nghĩa, Vice Rector, Mr. Trần Văn Trọng, Former Vice Rector, leaders of the Center for National Defense & Security Education of Tra Vinh University, and officials and lecturers of the Center.

Phan Quốc Nghĩa, Phó Hiệu trưởng Trường Đại học Trà Vinh cho biết: Trong những năm qua, Trung tâm Trung tâm Giáo dục Quốc phòng & An ninh Đại học Trà Vinh không ngừng nghiên cứu đổi mới nội dung và phương pháp giảng dạy quyết tâm đưa môn học Giáo dục quốc phòng và an ninh đáp ứng yêu cầu và nhiệm vụ trong tình hình mới.
Dr. Phan Quốc Nghĩa confirms: Over the years, Tra Vinh University’s Center for National Defense & Security Education constantly researches and innovates content and teaching methods with determination, bringing the subject of National Defense and Security Education to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
The conference receives many presentations with different topics from units, scientists, administrators, lecturers, and teachers of defense education with 8 topics of discussion.
Five presentations are directly reported at the seminar, including: “Raising students’ awareness in the subject of National Defense & Security Education from the practice of the Center for Education in National Defense and Security at Tra Vinh University” – authored by Mr. Thạch Thanh Tiền; “Solutions to improve the activeness of students’ activities in the subject of National Defense & Security Education” – authored by Mr. Huỳnh Trọng Nhân; “Solutions to improve the quality of lecturers at the Center for Education in National Defense and Security at Tra Vinh University in the face of the impact of the industrial revolution 4.0” – authored by Ms. Nguyễn Thị Trà My; “Teaching creative experiences in National Defense & Security Education for students at the Center for Education in National Defense and Security at Tra Vinh University” – authored by Mr. Phan Minh Đậm, and “Improving the quality of centralized management students of affiliated schools at Tra Vinh University” – authored by Mr. Nguyễn Văn Vàng.
The seminar affirms the role of national defense and security education in the current cause of national construction and defense. Additionally, the presentations and comments from the participants contribute to improving the quality of teaching and learning, as well as the coordination and linkage of National Defense & Security Education between the schools to enhance research and learning activities for university students, especially at the Center for Education in National Defense and Security at Tra Vinh University.
The Center for National Defense Education, under Tra Vinh University, has the task of teaching, issuing certificates, and providing national defense and security education to students from 12 universities and colleges in the provinces of Tra Vinh, Ben Tre, Tien Giang, and Vinh Long. The center caters to a student population ranging from 7,000 to 8,000 students per year, according to the Ministry of Defense’s streamlining decision.
