Scientific conference: Promoting the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological products in higher education institutions

(TVU) – On the afternoon of February 24, Tra Vinh University held a hybrid conference on the topic “Promoting the transfer and commercialization of scientific and technological products in higher education institutions”.

The conference had the presence of Mr. Phung Minh Hai – Head of Center for Technology Transfer and Patent Exploitation Advisory – National Institute of Patent and Technology EXploitation, Ministry of Science and Technology; Mr. Luu Van Nhanh – Deputy Manager of Tra Vinh Economic Zone Management Board; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Thai Hung – Deputy Director of Tra Vinh Department of Science and Technology and representatives of universities, companies and enterprises.

On the side of Tra Vinh University, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung – Vice-Rector of TVU, Dr. Huynh Van Muoi Mot – Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Administration – Organization Department, leaders of the Faculty, Departments, and Centers.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung expressed his wish that the conference would be an opportunity to exchange experiences between universities and higher education institutions, research institutes and businesses. Moreover, it was also an opportunity to connect and help projects become practical products, especially to create conditions to introduce products to the market.

The conference received 12 discourses from lecturers, scientists, businesses, and postgraduates inside and outside the province focusing on many topics such as Solutions to increase patent registration activities at research institutes and universities; Transfer and commercialization models of scientific and technological products in higher education institutions; Commercializing TVU’s products by training online sales skills for small businesses; Activities connecting research and technology transfer between universities and enterprises in Dong Thap province; Improving the efficiency of cooperation between enterprises – universities, the importance and proposal of development models; Business models at the university with the participation of students; Commercialization of scientific and technological research results of Tra Vinh University: Current situation and solutions.

  

On this occasion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung – Vice-Rector, representing TVU, and Mr. Nguyen Thang Long, representing Vietnam Chief Sales and Marketing Officers Club (CSMO) –  signed a cooperation agreement on promoting programs to support small businesses trading products of Tra Vinh University; supporting students of Tra Vinh University to practice and create job opportunities at CSMO digital transformation network; coordinating in organizing practical training programs on E-commerce sales skills at CSMO; coordinating to organize activities to support career counseling to share real work experiences at CSMO and communication activities, advertising, software application in E-commerce management and scholarships; organizing training and professional internship for TVU lecturers at CSMO.

Mr. Nguyen Thang Long emphasized the direction that the University is aiming for is consistent with the development strategy of CSMO; therefore, businesses in CSMO will give priority to accepting TVU students come to practice, as well as participate in technical transformation activities for local businesses to connect businesses with domestic and foreign markets.

The cooperation agreement is the basis for opening a long and sustainable cooperation path. Moreover, this is also a premise to jointly build, exploit and effectively develop the resources and two-sided advantages to achieve the set goals.
