(TVU) – On December 23, 2019, Tra Vinh University organized the scientific forum “From Southern Vietnamese people’s characteristics to Tra Vinh people’s ones” to welcome the 120th anniversary of the establishment of Tra Vinh province.
The forum had the participation of representatives of departments and agencies in Tra Vinh province, TVU Rector Board, cultural researchers, lecturers, and TVU students.
There are six papers among 36 ones selected to present at the forum. Southern Vietnamese people’s personalities and Tra Vinh people’s ones under cultural and historical perspectives have been discussed. Especially, the forum also focuses on how to promote the core values of Tra Vinh people in the context of industrialization and modernization.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi An, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said: “Geographical and natural conditions have impacted on Tra Vinh people’s distinctive characteristics that are generous and open-minded.”
“It is a good chance for TVU lecturers and students to learn more about cultural values and the characteristics of Southern Vietnamese people in general and Tra Vinh people in particular to expand further cultural research cooperation”, said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Tiet Khanh, TVU Rector.
This event is also a great opportunity for people to display historical and cultural materials, and artistic works about Tra Vinh people during periods of time.
