Seminar on Climate Change attracts hundreds from Mekong Delta

TVU – On June 9, 2015, more than 100 distinguished guests around the Mekong Delta cities and Ho Chi Minh City attended the Seminar on Environmental Management and Climate Change Adaption co-sponsored by Adaption to Climate Change in the Mekong Delta (AMD) and TVU in Campus 1, TVU.

      A/Prof. Pham Tiet Khanh said that overexploitation of natural resources and environmental pollution are a threat to social and economical developments for the future generations.

TVU has actively co-operated with concerned departments and organizations to develop a strategic plan for sustainable development for Tra Vinh province and the Mekong Delta.

The seminar received 31 discussion papers on environment, agricultural production, resources management and climate change adaptation. All attracted the attention of participants.

Mr. Huynh Nghia Tho, Director of AMD Tra Vinh highly valued the papers that reflects the current situation of environmental issues. He believed that the seminar is one of the great opportunities for AMD to learn more about the solutions for environmental protection and climate change adaptation so that AMD may develop an action plan through co-operating with related departments and organizations in the near future.
