(TVU)—On March 14, 2024, Tra Vinh University collaborated with Ascendas Systems Company, the distributor of Matlab software in Vietnam, to organize a seminar introducing teaching tools, scientific research, and the application of Matlab software in intelligent agriculture.
Attending the seminar from Ascendas Systems are Ms. Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Head of the Education Division, Ascendas Systems Company in Vietnam; Ms. Kantika Wongkasem, Application Engineer of Ascendas Systems Company in Thailand; and Mr. Ngo Duc Thang, Application Engineer of Ascendas Systems Company in Vietnam.
From Tra Vinh University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice President of the University, along with representatives of leaders and lecturers from affiliated units, attend.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice President, delivers the opening remarks at the Seminar: Scientific and technological activities are among the activities the University pays attention to and develops. The seminar will contribute to enhancing the university’s scientific and technological potential. It is a critical activity that helps lecturers grasp the features and utilities of Matlab software for learning, teaching, and scientific research, improving the effectiveness of digital transformation at the university in the coming time.
At the seminar, Ms. Kantika Wongkasem, Application Engineer of Ascendas Systems Company in Thailand, introduces free Matlab Online courses with certification and presents teaching tools to support lecturers. Additionally, the seminar shares the topic “AI for Engineering & Introduction of Simulink” and the application of Matlab software in the field of intelligent agriculture by using model-based design to develop, test and deploy automatic control systems using 3D camera data to position the pouring nozzle, helping to save harvesting time and improve product quality in agriculture.
As the authorized distributor in Southeast Asia for MathWorks Inc., the developer of Matlab and Simulink products since 1996, Ascendas Systems Company provides organizations and enterprises with the best tools, products, and services to support innovation. Matlab is a programming and numerical computing platform millions of engineers and scientists use to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models. At the same time, Simulink is a block diagram environment used to design systems with multi-domain models and simulate them before moving to hardware and deploying without writing code.
