TVU – May 13, 2024 – Over 200 students from Tra Vinh University (TVU) participate in the “Shark Hung Mentors Tra Vinh University students in Entrepreneurship and Career Development” program held on May 8th.
This program aimed to equip students with the knowledge and skills to navigate the entrepreneurial landscape and build successful careers. It was co-organized by Tra Vinh University, CEN Global Academy Joint Stock Company, and Song Yen Social Enterprise Consulting and Training Company Limited.
Shark Hung shares expertise with aspiring entrepreneurs
The program featured a keynote address by Mr. Pham Thanh Hung, a prominent figure in Vietnam’s business world. Better known as “Shark Hung,” he is the Vice Chairman of Cen Group, Chairman of Cen Academy, and a key investor on the popular TV show “Shark Tank Vietnam.”
Shark Hung shared his entrepreneurial journey, valuable insights into the startup field, and practical tips from his experiences. His participation gave students a unique opportunity to learn from a highly successful investor and entrepreneur.
Tra Vinh University: Fostering a culture of entrepreneurship
Tra Vinh University is actively fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among its student body. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung, Vice-Rector of the university, highlighted the university’s role as the Chair of the Student Entrepreneurship Support Network (3S-Net) in the Mekong Delta region. He emphasized the university’s commitment to collaboration with other universities and colleges to provide incubation activities and support programs that equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Diep Thanh Tung mentioned the university’s ongoing efforts to integrate entrepreneurial knowledge into its curriculum and collaborate with external organizations to provide students with additional support. Additionally, the university manages an Enterprise Incubator established by the Provincial People’s Committee and an Innovation and Startup Center dedicated to supporting students with entrepreneurial ideas.
Students inspired by mentorship program
The program resonated deeply with participating students. Tran Dien Trieu, a student from class DA21QTMKT, expressed his appreciation for the speakers’ valuable experiences and insights and fellow students’ entrepreneurial aspirations. He stated his hope to become a successful entrepreneur and contribute to the economic development of his hometown, Tra Vinh.
