Students of Tra Vinh University compete in the Chinese eloquence contest

On November 11, 2023, the final round of the 2023 National Chinese Eloquence Contest in Da Nang with the theme “The role of Vietnamese youth in international integration” took place at S1 studio, Vietnam Television Center in the region of Southern Central – Central Highlands (VTV8).

The contest was organized by the Union of Friendship Organizations of Da Nang City, the Vietnam-China Friendship Association of Da Nang City in coordination with the Chinese Consulate General in Da Nang, the University of Foreign Languages (University of Da Nang), and VTV8.

Elocution contest

This contest is an annual event held nationwide, with the desire to promote the position, role, and responsibility of youth in the process of Vietnam’s international integration, contributing to realizing the aspiration of building and developing a prosperous and happy country. Thereby, it creates opportunities for young people to see their responsibility to constantly study, research, and improve knowledge, especially scientific and technological achievements, actively and proactively participate in international cooperation, solve global problems, and participate in people-to-people diplomacy in new situations.

After one month of launching the contest, the Organizing Committee received more than 300 entries from the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam – China Friendship Association of 25 provinces, municipal cities and 43 universities, institutes, Chinese Language Centers in the country, including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Can Tho, Lao Cai, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Hai Duong, Phu Tho, Ha Tinh, Thua Thien – Hue, Binh Dinh, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Ba Ria Vung Tau, Dong Thap, and Tra Vinh.

Through the second preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 35 best contestants among 300 to compete in the final round. Contestant Nguyen Thi Ngoc Qui, a student of Chinese Language, School of Southern Khmer Language – Culture – Arts and Humanities, Tra Vinh University, was honored to be present in this year’s contest and got the consolation prize.

Within the framework of the program, Ngoc Qui actively participated in social activities at the Center for Supporting Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin (DAVA) and Unfortunate Children in Da Nang City and a number of other activities to be aware of her responsibility in helping the community, becoming a useful citizen for family, homeland, country, and society.
