The Entrepreneurship Sharing Program between the lecturers and students of Tra Vinh University and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) Canada


TVU – On June 19, 2023, Tra Vinh University inaugurates the Entrepreneurship Sharing Program with faculty and students engaging in various dynamic activities.

This project falls within the framework of the student and faculty exchange program that the two institutions have continuously implemented for several years. This year, the program involves the participation of 9 TVU students, 9 NSCC students, along with faculty members from both universities.

Attending the opening ceremony on behalf of Nova Scotia Community College are Ms. Kellie McMullin, Training Manager; Mr. Scott J Patterson, Financial Services Department; Ms. Christine White, university lecturer, and 9 students participating in the exchange program.

Representing Tra Vinh University is Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Khanh, Head of International Cooperation and Project Promotion Department, along with teachers and students participating in the program.

The objective of the program is to discuss entrepreneurial ideas aimed at the community, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit of Vietnamese and Canadian students. It aims to help students passionate about entrepreneurship develop skills, enhance knowledge, and direct their development in the field of entrepreneurship to serve the community.

The Entrepreneurship Exchange Program between TVU and NSCC was first organized in 2016 based on the collaboration between Tra Vinh University (TVU) and Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC), Canada. The program has been held continuously since 2016 with the goal of expanding cooperation, strengthening friendship, creating cultural exchange opportunities between Vietnam and Canada, while providing favorable conditions for studying and exchanging experiences for students from both universities.

During the opening ceremony, Ms. Christine White shared information about the entrepreneurship system at Nova Scotia Community College. “As an international community college, the institution focuses on investing in and guiding students towards entrepreneurial business activities after graduation. The college offers diverse disciplines, attracting students from various countries around the world, especially including Vietnamese students and students from Tra Vinh University who are currently studying and researching at the college.”

Mr. Scott J Patterson stated that NSCC students are enthusiastic about the entrepreneurial ideas from TVU students. The visit provides students with an opportunity to exchange cultures, learn about the education environment in Vietnam, learn from each other’s entrepreneurial experiences, and experience the ecological environment in Vietnam. On this occasion, he expresses his gratitude to the university management board, faculty members, and supportive students who create opportunities for connecting students and faculty members from both universities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, a student of the English Language Department 2020, shares, “I highly value the opportunity to participate in this program with students and teachers from Canada. We learn many entrepreneurial ideas, improve our language skills, and share the beauty of Vietnamese-Canadian culture.”
