TVU – On September 7, 2023, at Tra Vinh University, the Freshman Welcome Day for the Class of 2023 takes place. Thousands of freshmen and students are enthusiastic on this festive day as they welcome the new academic year 2023 – 2024.
The event comprises two parts: the welcome ceremony and a program for students to meet and interact with professors, departments, institutes, cultural exchange programs, arts, traditional games, cuisine, and more. The new students are welcomed and integrated into the new learning environment by esteemed professors, senior students, and previous academic cohorts.
During the freshman welcome ceremony, Dr. Thach Thi Dan, Vice-Rector, congratulates and welcomes all the new students to become part of TVU’s student body. The University’s Board of Directors is grateful to the students for choosing Tra Vinh University as their place for study, research, and nurturing their dreams.
The Vice-Rector emphasizes that university education is a significant turning point in one’s life. Simultaneously, it is the best time for personal development for the students. This period is for character building, fostering creativity in their respective fields of expertise. It’s an opportunity for personal growth, self-study, and self-improvement to become mature individuals.
During this occasion, Tra Vinh University has awarded 61 scholarships worth a total of over 176.8 million VND. Various businesses have contributed over 120 million VND and gifts to students facing difficult circumstances and the university’s new freshmen.
At the Freshman welcome day, students and new freshmen participate in game booths, food stalls, financial consultation from bank staff, and cultural exchanges. These activities help the new students gain a better understanding of the university, and their respective faculties, and integrate into the faculty and university activities. They also provide timely sharing of essential information, companionship, support, and interactions between the new students, current students, and the faculty.
Trinh Thi Truc Linh, a freshman from the class of 2023, excitedly shares, “I am very happy to meet the professors, senior students, and new friends and to participate in various fun activities at the university, making me feel extremely comfortable. Our university campus is spacious with many green trees, creating a cool atmosphere, and the professors are all very enthusiastic and friendly.”
